Tried so hard it became a mess

This should, on the face of it, be an insanely erotic ride but it pretty much fails on all counts.

The story is almost non-existent, the female MC is a bloody wet lettuce, the supposed main male lead just blends into the background and the other four men in the big gang bang are indescribable from each other if you discount the fact one is black and another is an immature 22-year-old.

The BDSM aspects of the story read like someone went online and just looked up random kinks, so we have a voyeur, a sadist, a master controller - all in the same hockey team, what're the chances eh?!

There's commas sprinkled willy nilly throughout and the way the men are referred to jumps from first name, surname and nicknames faster than the MC agreed to the dumb gang bang idea to try and gain her father's attention. I mean, the whole plot is a WTF moment.

Still, there's something strangely compelling about this fact this is the start of a series of interconnected stories that I'm now debating reading to see just how many more tropes can be thrown in to one set of characters.

Very disappointed with this book. New to me author and comes with a great reputation. This book was very confusing with all the MCs being mentioned by both their surnames and well as their first names. I was not sure how many people where involved in any one scene. I'll try this author again but not this series.

Another hockey romance that doesn’t seem to pay much attention to the hockey or romance sides of the equation. To be honest, I abandoned this book very quickly (my Kindle said 22%). I don’t normally do this for books because I hate leaving them unfinished but I kept hoping this book would get better. But it didn’t.

There's a full list of kinks in the description. Safe to say, I didn’t get to all of them but the ones I did get weren’t really my cup of tea. I still would have read on though, if not for several other factors.

The hidden plot behind this book is that the Oriana’s father (who owns the team) will cut her off if she leaves her emotionally abusive, cheating monster of a boyfriend. Who is also the coach to the hockey team. And she left her ex, Max (one of the players on the team), for this coach. Complicated is one way to describe it.

Anyway, if the book looked like it was going to focus on this plot, then great. But it seemed more interested in describing in a lot of detail how the Oriana wasn’t just attracted to Max anymore, but also several players on the team. I mean all power to her but she was written as very unsure of this attraction with the men leading her to ‘enlightment’ and that got dull really quickly.

The final nail in the coffin was how nothing was the Oriana’s idea. She is the one in the crappy situation and its random men that are giving her the plan to get back at her father and her coach boyfriend, a plan which she doesn’t seem too happy about. Considering the way the other women had been written in the book, I didn’t hold out much hope for things improving.

So one star it is.

I gave this book 3.5 stars. I wavered throughout the book between 3 and 4. The characters were interesting and drew me in. Oriana was a likable lead, and the guys, Max and Dominik (yes the Dom's name is Dom) are great as well. Sloan, the third love interest in the book, left a bit to be desired, but I could deal with him. Oriana, the daughter of the hockey team owner, has left her boyfriend, the coach of the team. She has decided, to keep her father from cutting her off from his moeny, to act wild by pretending to be with many of the hockey players. The plan backfires when she falls for several of the players. The sex scenes were hot, mostly. The majority of the scenes were great, but a couple of them were just a bit much, or left me feeling just a bit bored. I got this book while it was free on Amazon, and interested me enough that I might buy follow-up books.

I enjoyed the story, however i felt the relationships were a bit rushed and didn't leave time to truly grow something solid. Will keep on reading the next books in the series to see how silver ends up.

Premise sounded interesting and then I started to read ... abort, abort, ABORT!

I have no problem with voyeurism, MFM, or even paying for sex ... but holding a knife to a woman (even if it's dull) during your in the alley fuckfest is where I hop off the train.

Instead of being rowwrrr and sexy it becomes not my cup of tea and this is within the first five minutes of reading.
