Have I mentioned Mo Willems is a genius? Who makes jokes and promotes honesty and friendship? I have? Well, it was worth repeating.

Piggie can't wait to play her new trumpet for Elephant. Is she ready to listen to his response?

Gerald and Piggy are being themselves and having fun. Piggy gets a new trumpet and he is eager to show Gerald his skills. However, Gerald must determine a diplomatic way to tell Piggy the truth about his music while still being a good friend. As with many other Elephant and Piggy books, the ending is truly what makes the books and it is meant to be read out loud. Highly recommended.

A terrific early reader: the sight words are not going to be much use, since half the book consists of onomatopoeic words, but it's great practice in phoneme reading. Although, your kid may end up having a hard time reading through the book as he will be laughing so hard ...

It is a really funny story too, definitely one of the funnier ones in the series!

Piggie has a new trumpet and plays it for Gerald, but Gerald isn't sure what to say about Piggie's playing. As a trumpet player, I've been there.

Genuine story of friendship, loyalty, and (mis)communication. Young readers will love this!
