Amazing - Adele Parks is one of my favourite authors and I can never stop reading/hit pause on the audiobook until it's finished! Always excellent twists and turns to keep you hooked until the end

It’s a slow burn at first but the ending is good. Now if you listen to the audiobook there are some parts at the beginning that will lose you if you aren’t 100% zoned in. If I could I would give it a 3.5 along with the first book.

*****I received this free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
There was a lot going on in this book. Many times I felt the author shared things earlier than they should. Other times I felt there was just to much going on. I felt like the author was trying to throw everything in this book. I will say I didn’t really was a sequel until the explanation at the end. Maybe that would have made a difference.

This book took me forever to finish because it just wasn’t that good and a solid 2 BECAUSE (small spoiler) …. We have a dog in the book and no mention of what happens to him after his owner dies?!?! Come on

I didn't like this one very much. I mean there were parts that were interesting and I wanted to know what happened so I kept reading to find out the end, but it wasn't what I expected. I didn't like the way things panned out - there was a moral dilemma with the situation and it just rubbed me the wrong way.
I know a lot of others like it and don't have issue with it, but I'm not one of them. I'm clearly not the target audience for this book, but if this interests you it might be something you want to read.

I haven't read the prequel to Just Between Us, and I can see from other reviews that this may have enhanced the story. However, much like the only other Adele Parks book that I've read, this also has a deliciously uncomfortable vibe throughout.
I thought DCI Clements was a great character and I will enjoy other books featuring this tenacious copper!
There is a dual storyline featuring - frankly confusing - bigamist Kylie Gillingham and the mystery of her disappearance, and also innocent Stacie Jones who lives with her dad in a small village where she lives an enviable simple life. But how and why do these worlds collide?
As well as being a cracking thriller, the author takes us on a deep dive into the complexities of relationships, family connections, and what motivates people to do the bizarrest of things to those they purport to love.
My thanks to the author, NetGalley and HQ Stories for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Stacie Jones is fortunate to have her overprotective father caring for all of her needs. Or is she? Stacie has returned home from Paris, and apparently is much in the need for a desperate brain surgery. No worries, her father will care for her.
There is another story in Two Dead Wives. There is a woman who was a bigamist, Kylie Gillingham, and her loss has left more than a few people grieving, not the least her two husbands. How will life progress now that Kylie is gone?
There is a curious thing about the way this story is delivered. While it is the 2nd book in the DCI Clements series, she played more like a minor character. I was much more invested as to what was going on the Stacie. Or what secrets Kylie had kept.
Aside from that, this was a very good read, very intriguing and had a satisfying conclusion.
Many thanks to MIRA and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I’ve read the first one and was pleasantly surprised to see a sequel. I liked the loose ends being tied up from the first book, but now I feel like there are other loose ends from this book that I need to have more info on! Ha! I liked this and binged it in two days. I did the audiobook and was surprised they didn’t have a cast of readers for all the perspectives included in the book. I would definitely recommend reading the first book so that you understand what’s going on in this one.
