Just Between Us by Adele Parks

4.0

I haven't read the prequel to Just Between Us, and I can see from other reviews that this may have enhanced the story. However, much like the only other Adele Parks book that I've read, this also has a deliciously uncomfortable vibe throughout.

I thought DCI Clements was a great character and I will enjoy other books featuring this tenacious copper!

There is a dual storyline featuring - frankly confusing - bigamist Kylie Gillingham and the mystery of her disappearance, and also innocent Stacie Jones who lives with her dad in a small village where she lives an enviable simple life. But how and why do these worlds collide?

As well as being a cracking thriller, the author takes us on a deep dive into the complexities of relationships, family connections, and what motivates people to do the bizarrest of things to those they purport to love.

My thanks to the author, NetGalley and HQ Stories for an ARC in return for an honest review.
