I liked the idea behind this book but the character choices and plot points didn’t make sense or felt rushed. I like morally grey characters but consent was not considered well enough for me. Also a lot of convenient plot points (like phone calls or texts used to stop the action all the time). Not for me.

This was Mindy’s first dark romance book and man did she hit it out of the park! Such a dark, spicy, quick read that will have you loving these dark deprived characters!
Lillith is a medical intern working and living in a very rough part of town. After saving the life of the deadliest member of a motorcycle club. Lillith goes back about her life but the motorcycle man is obsessed. This is where the dark romance girlies will love Kain. He not even morally gray he’s so much worse having no remorse and only cares about one thing…Lillith! His obsession becomes more when he can’t stop himself and takes her home. Things get darker and far spicier from there. No spoilers you just need to read it. I loved the Dom/Sub dynamic and the kinks that Mindy was able to write in such a delicious way. Obviously read the trigger warnings but if you are a dark romance girlie who wants phantom of the opera meets motorcycle club vibes this is the book for you!

ARC Review :

I received an ARC copy of this from @theauthorsagency and @mindypaige. This is the first book in the 'Dark Triad Series'

Before we get in, please read all the trigger warnings Mindy has listed in the book.

We get pulled into Lillith's world really quickly. She is a really innocent girl with a traumatic past working as an intern in the hospital. When two wounded men are brought to the hospital, she feels a connection with one of them, which starts the whole story because that's when she meets Kain, the MMC. He is also a tortured soul. Lilith gets caught in the middle of Kain's obsession with her, but it isn't unwelcome, as she has felt a connection with him since she met him.

This book is full of mystery, suspense, betrayals, and secrets. Although this book is a slightly heavy read because of all the triggers. It is a perfect dark romance book. I guess we all figured out that we read character names.
