Slow Start. Decent Introductory Book

This is the second book I’ve read in the Stronghold series and it was okay. The good bits that really captured my attention didn’t begin until after seventy percent had been read. That’s a major bummer from an erotic story with BDSM as a stronghold. Submission is the aspect for this tale of Adam & Angel. Once this couple does get out of their own way, the heat is intense and scenes are steamy.

“She was stretched out before him like a pagan sacrifice, her legs hooked over his shoulders so he had full access to her p*ssy, and he was watching her like she was hotter than any porn star.”

I realize this is the first book in the series and introduces characters & couples featured in other books, but it didn’t make me want to download the entire series right away. This was a freebie. If you’re looking to start a series where each book can be read as a stand-alone and characters interconnect, plus erotic steam & romance are included, then you might like this.

Holy Spitballs!
This book is the first in a series of BDSM Erotic Romances, & it absolutely earns every one of its five stars.

Triggers:
Bondage
Possible emotional abuse (secondary characters)
Spanking
Slightly irresponsible scening

…guys, I think that’s all.
I think that’s the shortest trigger list I’ve made since I started making them.

Characters of Colour?
YES.
EXPLICITLY.
There are multiple explicit Black folx.
There are explicit Hispanic folx.
The MC is explicitly multi-racial! (Korean/Chinese/Probably White)
[insert happy dancing]

GLITTFAB/Queer characters?
Now this is a slightly underwhelming area, BUT there is at least one Bisexual person! There’s a Triad, as well, but it’s a pretty straight one.
BUT.
There’s Not Completely Hetero people!!

Disabled characters?
So this one isn’t at all explicit, but it seems like the MC is neuro-atypical.
She’s disorganised, crafty, blunt, has very few women friends because they seem to have a secret language, emotions are all-consuming & briefly felt… & it’s amazing. So amazing.

Worth my time?
I spent almost 15 hours on this Honking Chonker. It’s a BIG book.
I regret NOTHING.
Between the diversity, the excellent, superbly handled BDSM, & the amazingly well-realised, gigantic cast, I was enthralled from start to finish. I honestly loved this to PIECES.
The MC is sassy, passionate, & unapologetic.
The LI is brooding, “Mr. Grumpy”, holds his life in tight control until the MC throws him for a loop.
The supporting cast are genuine, & it was so awesome to see them included in such a natural way.

Re-read?
YES! There’s quite a lot of material from this author which would give depth & detail to the gigantic cast, which would make for an even more wonderful re-reading experience.

Recommend?
To anyone looking for Diversity with their Kinky romance, anyone new to Kinky Romances, anyone neuro-atypical who wants to read a good romance.

I love how it was about Angel finding herself along the way with Adam. One thing was sometimes it was sometimes confusing on whose mind you were in. There were sections where it said Adam or Angel and it had both of their thoughts in one. I loved the read and it was hard to put the book down.

I have enjoyed reading this book, it is the first from this author. The story covers a young woman who believes she is submissive, but is afraid to visit the local BDSM club so she goes to another out of town. But goes dressed as a Dom hoping to get a feeling of what the scene is like. But she is seen through by a Dom, fate would have them meet in the club she lives near, and the sparks fly.

Golden Angel sizzles! I absolutely love Angel! I have met Adam & Angel in the Masters of Marquis series but coming back to read their story was so much fun. Angel is every bit sass while never quite crossing that line to brat. This poses a great many opportunities for discipline, and Adam doesn’t hold back. Watching him come into his own and finding light and humour was fun as he came across grumpy to start. This was a great intro into so many characters I’m familiar with. Not only was it an intro into the series but also into the world of Stronghold, journeying with Angel as a newbie into the fray. All the spice, the romance and the humour that I’d expect.

3⭐️ A cute D/s book that has a very large friends group, where all the women are nice and the Dom men are educated.
The spice was good and a tad slow burn
