This was such an intense and dark read. While I have mixed feelings about Jason, I can't and won't deny the danger he put himself in while trying to do his own investigation. He obviously went through something extremely traumatic, something he could never come back from. It offers a lot of insight into these depraved minds, and that information is very invaluable.

I still don't know what to say about the novel. It tries to end on such a high note, and knowing that author killed himself really devalues the positive message. However, the novel is enthralling, if you've ever been interested in the subject, I highly recommend it. This book will take you deep into their minds.

If you have ANY limits to what you can handle in a book, this one is not for you. If you’re open to being absolutely disgusted because of your warped fascination with serial killers and how they think and function, you’ll probably be into this crazy story. I had a hard time putting it down.

This book was an emotional ride especially since I leaned that the author committed suicide. This book is a very raw exposure to the detailed discussion between the author and several serial killers. The fact the author created personas that acted as bait to draw them out and then hearing the killers own words from their letters offer a unique insight into their mindsets and motivations.
After reading this book and knowing the authors tragic end, makes the books title even more appropriate. After reading the discussions of the emotional impact to himself, his family and friends, I can't help but relate his death to those sick killers with him truly becoming their "Last Victim".

DNF - I lost interest. There was too much about how the author's family and friends felt about the project.
