Ohhhh my gosh, I adored this book. Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time fave books and this retelling was absolutely perfect in every way for me.
I loved Lizzy so, so much. She embodies everything Elizabeth Bennet is despite the entirely different, modern setting. She’s fierce and loyal and proud and scared and she cares so much.
And Darcy is wonderful too! He’s brooding and not very social and he’s a bit of a control freak even though he masks it. He cares so deeply and it often comes out in all the wrong ways but that’s half the reason we love him, right?
The Montauk week was absolutely everything and I wish we could have spent more time there even though I know doing so would be filler and make the book unnecessarily long. I would have devoured every moment of it regardless.
I loved every little added detail, too. Every little change made and side plot added that made this retelling stand out as its own original story. I really appreciated how each of the Bennet sisters felt like individual characters with their own important things going on.
If you’re looking for a light summer read, I highly recommend this one.

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book of all time, so I tend to have mixed feelings when it comes to a retelling. My standards are high because these characters and this story hold a special place in my heart, but my hopes are also high because I want to immerse myself in this story again and again. What I'm saying is that it's a tough act to follow and to retell this classic story in a way that is modern, stays true to the story, but also has it's own personality is not an easy task. I think Audrey Bellezza and Emily Harding did an amazing job.
There were no huge surprises for those of us who are familiar with the story, but I enjoyed some of the character updates they made for this book to be set in the present day. I particularly enjoyed Mary as a passionate, eco-warrior character in this book and Lydia as a slightly less selfish version of her original character. This book stays pretty true to the original but does manage to feel like it is it's own story. I loved it!

I am a sucker for Jane Austen adaptations and this one hit the mark. It was the perfect mix of staying close to the plot of Pride and Prejudice while adding in new and modern plot elements. I found myself laughing out loud at some parts and rooting for Lizzy and Darcy from the beginning.
This was open door so I did skip those parts :).

Bellezza and Harding did such a great job of weaving in plot points and details from the original work into their modern Pride and Prejudice retelling. Loved it! He read all her journal articles

Such a fun version of Pride and Prejudice. Charming, a little spicy, and a book I didn’t want to put down
