Ohhhh my gosh, I adored this book. Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time fave books and this retelling was absolutely perfect in every way for me.

I loved Lizzy so, so much. She embodies everything Elizabeth Bennet is despite the entirely different, modern setting. She’s fierce and loyal and proud and scared and she cares so much.

And Darcy is wonderful too! He’s brooding and not very social and he’s a bit of a control freak even though he masks it. He cares so deeply and it often comes out in all the wrong ways but that’s half the reason we love him, right?

The Montauk week was absolutely everything and I wish we could have spent more time there even though I know doing so would be filler and make the book unnecessarily long. I would have devoured every moment of it regardless.

I loved every little added detail, too. Every little change made and side plot added that made this retelling stand out as its own original story. I really appreciated how each of the Bennet sisters felt like individual characters with their own important things going on.

If you’re looking for a light summer read, I highly recommend this one.
