I loved the practical recommendations that this book includes that are relevant to our modern American context. I took time reading a bit of this book each day instead of speeding through it. That helped me to sink down into the ideas so that I think about incorporating Hygge into life as a way of being. My family tried some of the recommended recipes for simple, warm, generous meals and they were delicious. I anticipate re-visiting this author and concept again in the future to keep the ideas fresh.

This book was less about “American cozy” and more about how rushed Americans are!
Still, I really love reading about cozy Hygge Traditions. This book contains recipes for Danish cooking, Glogg and homemade spa treatments which is fun too!

Disappointing!! I was looking for a book on coziness to channel my 2024 focus word, but this book felt disorganized, lacked a point, and even contradicted itself several times. It had some nice definitions of "cozy" that I saved, but I would not recommend taking the time to read this whole book.

A short read with cute illustrations. The diy beauty recipes were very simple which I enjoyed. I wish the advice was more technical and varied since most of the advice was for a mom with an office job.

Some good and helpful hints, but mostly the author comes across as a bossy, self-righteous, judgmental bitch. There are much better books on the subject of hygge—do yourself a favor and skip this one!
