I really enjoyed reading this book. It gives advice and tells real-life experiences on mental health struggles. It includes a number of poems, quotes, book recs and song recs. This book is really heartwarming but it does discuss some very dark topics so definitely check TW/CW !!!

Filled with short chapters and many small aphorisms, I wished I hadn’t listened to this one as an audiobook because I felt like everything went by so quickly without having a chance to absorb it. Matt Haig as a narrator though was great—what a voice!

I hope this book finds the right person at the right time. I got a lot out of it, but I can only imagine coming across it during moments of my life where I was struggling. I do love Matt Haig’s writing and would like to try more from him.

A lot of things I needed to hear, and I'm sure many things I'll need to hear in the future. Have already given a copy to one friend, and I'll probably want to have this around for myself too.

I loved this book and the premise behind it, however I think it is best read slowly. I read this in about 5 hours and whilst the writing was excellent, the messages all blend into one. I think this is best read by dipping in and out of the book as and when you feel like! That way, it makes the messages more impactful. It's very similar to Reasons to Stay Alive by the same author in terms of it being semi-memior semi-self help(esc). Overall really recommend!
