This book felt like 2 different books mashed together. The first half of the book drew me in for sure. But it took a weird turn and for me went totally of the rails. I couldn't understand the motivation of Juno. I didn't really understand her character at all. Winnie and Nigel were both hard to like and I hated that the author kept hinting at secrets that didn't really get fleshed out fully.
Then the whole Dakota thing. That made no sense to me. I didn't like anything beyond that point. Any potential I thought the story had quickly vanished.
The main thing this book had going for it was that it was a quick read.

This book was not it. It moved so slowly at the beginning, and absolutely none of the characters had any redeeming qualities that made me want to root for them in the end. Maybe I’m not the target audience for this book, but I really had trouble with it.

Definitely a messed up story. I didn’t really like any of the characters—although I’m not sure you’re supposed to like any of them. It did keep me interested though.

So many twists, many of which I did not see coming, which is rare. Kept me engaged the whole way through. So good!!

Harmful portrayals of mental illness, addictions, homelessness; garbled plot and disjointed writing; unlikable characters; ridiculous ending.

I don’t know how I finished this...perhaps I just carried on in the hope that at some point the writer or characters could redeem themselves. On that note, I don’t even know how this book came to be published. Using schizophrenia as a “plot device” in this fashion is shameful and wildly outdated (by that, I mean inexcusable, particularly in this day and age). Do yourself—and humanity—a favour: don’t read this.
