With the election looming - I've been choosing political books to read (or listen to). HRC is well-done and informative. It documents Clinton's career as Secretary of State and it explains the whole Benghazi situation in a way that I could finally understand. It is written in a journalistic style and chock full of details and interviews with Clinton colleagues, supporters, and enemies. Written by Politico's Jonathan Allen and The Hill's Amie Parnes (both political-journalism organizations), it is dense but readable. Clinton fans will appreciate it, but I would recommend to readers who like to learn about candidates on both sides of the aisle.

I read this because I wanted to know more about how Hilary works from the point of view of others.
If she does run in 2016, I want to be more informed about her this time around. (I mean, CLINTON/WARREN '16)
It was an easy read, which I was surprised about. Lacked any really narrative though, but I'm guessing that's a trademark of these types of books.

I am a huge fan of Clinton. I admire the way she always fight back and doesnt give up easily. Also the way she fights for Women's rights is amazing! This book shows the way it was during her time as secretary of state, not only the positive side of it but also the negative side of it. I have a huge respect the way she handled it!

Oh, for a Hillary lovefest, it was delightful! :) Not critical of my favorite lady in any way... at all. If you're looking for a critical review of her time in the State department, definitely go elsewhere. If you just want to admire her, read this book.

I have always liked Hillary and Bill Clinton. I wondered what kind of strength it took to keep your identity when your husband is president. I have always admired the way that she handled the problems of life, as privately as possible with as much strength as possible. I mention this only as a way of knowing my upfront bias about Hilary Clinton. I won't pretend that I have no such bias.
This book gave us the clear image of a strong woman dealing with unique circumstances. Through the accounts of those closest to Hillary we start to understand the drive, ambition, and personal dedication of Hillary.

Don't go in thinking you're going to learn a lot about Hillary Clinton's foreign policy; you'll learn more from [b:The Secretary: A Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power|15794108|The Secretary A Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power|Kim Ghattas|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1439818077s/15794108.jpg|21653640] about her philosophy and governing principles if that's what you're interested in. But this is a fascinating account of the internal politics of the four years she served as Obama's Secretary of State.

Mixed. Some good, some not so much. Not particularly deep. Perhaps a reflection of HRC's term at State. Almost as much about Bill Clinton and Obama as HRC. Will read the imminent memoir by Hillary, and hopefully that will be the book I had hoped this and Ghattas's had been.
