I almost DNFed this 3 times, but it was such a short book I decided to just push through. The Playlist at the beginning was a cute idea, but I felt it didn't flow with the writing of the book. I didn't like either of the main characters and felt like Maras actions made no sense considering what happened in the beginning of the book? Cole seems like he doesn't know what he wants. I definitely won't be reading the second part.

If you think this is a dark romance, it’s not. It’s not a love story.MMC is an undiagnosed sociopath. He doesn’t feel very many emotions and becomes obsessed with a girl that survived a murder, a girl that does make him lose control but not in a good way. Do not read this book and expect him to because the romantic type. Because it won’t happen. He is manipulative and controlling and will use force to get his way. He defines his own morals and right and wrong and doesn’t regret a damn thing. The FMC is the opposite she feels too strongly and doesn’t have control of anything but her art.

Please check trigger warnings before you read this. Lots of dark mental health themes and murder/eluding to rape too. You can tell that this was very much a way of letting go of some trauma for the author. And it may help other in accepting theirs and letting go too but please evaluate your mental state before diving into this book or the next one.

Not a typical read for me, darker in concept, characters, and plot than I usually enjoy. The book was faced paced, kept me engaged, always wanting to know what would happen next. The main characters were amusing in their constant attempt to out stubborn the other. I liked the setting of the book. Both in location and business sense. I don't think I've read a story set in San Francisco before and I know I haven't read any that center around the art world(its parties, creation, drama and politics). Overall, I enjoyed this tale for what it was though I will not likely read it again

It was addictive but some parts were very disturbing. Very dark romance but I was hooked. Definitely will be reading the second one.

Well, that was... well it certainly was a book. Towards the end, I started to understand why this was getting all the hype. By the end I mean like literally the last two chapters. I just don't think this is my thing. I can read dark romances and be okay with horrible main characters, but bro was creeping me out. I think I just hated the MMC. Still consuming what the hell I just read, will I be reading book two? Duh. But a bit speechless and conflicted on how I'm feeling right now...
