I’m not perimenopausal yet, but wanted to read this to be prepared as I enjoyed the author’s previous book Period Power. It’s incredibly detailed and full of suggestions but a little daunting and overwhelming. This is such a difficult time for women and I’m hoping a better understand of the transition will benefit everyone. I’m sure I’ll be back to this book when the time comes…

This is a dense book with a lot of information delivered in each chapter. The author covers what I assume is most, if not all, of the possible impacts of perimenopause. Hill explored hormonal fluctuations (which there's a lot of), mental health changes and recommendations for lifestyle changes and supplements. I'm sure there are other books out there on perimenopause, but this book was an interesting insight into dealing with perimenopause. There were some good takeaways and I would refer back to this book when I come this point in my reproductive journey.

A useful book to support learning about peri menopause but as others have said it can be quite weighty and a lot to take in. I think alongside over reading etc it is a useful read to help build a picture of peri menopause.

I’m so grateful for this book. I am a woman of a certain age, dealing with peri menopause, and trying to navigate the health care system. I wish this book had been around a few years ago when things started for me and I had no idea what was happening. I hope it will be a well-used resource for other women.
This book did a great job of outlining the major issues and concerns, then following them up with chapter by chapter breakdowns. Some things didn’t apply to me but others explained exactly what I’ve been experiencing and I really benefited from reading about my options. That’s exactly what I hoped for when I selected this book for review. It fulfilled my expectations, and more

Another new library book that I was lucky enough to get my hot little hands on first! It was an engaging, conversational read about an issue that is becoming more prevalent in social circles, and one that is important to talk about. While parts of it didn't apply to me currently, the book gave a good outline of the process and what to expect. It was a good reminder of all that stuff you're told when you first start mensuration but forget over the years, so it was a good refresher course. The parts that did apply to me were well written and not scary or preachy, and made me feel like I wasn't alone, or going crazy. It was a great affirmation that things were doing what they were meant to be doing! I did enjoy it, as much as one "enjoys" a non-fiction book about perimenopause, but I would recommend it, and would read it again when I need a reminder.
