This is the first part in the duet and boy is this book going to grab you. I literally couldn't out this book down. It had me hooked right from the beginning. Teague and Pepper are going to make you fall in love with them and be so invested in their journey. Pepper hasn't had the easiest life which we get hints of, but if someone deserves something good to come her way it's her. Teague's past isn't all sunshine and roses either. Teague never expected to be drawn to Pepper, but there is an undeniable pull between them. He can't stay away even if he should. There is danger lurking that keeps getting closer. There are few characters in this book that need a visit from karma asap. Some nasty characters that are the scum of the earth. The cliffhanger that this book left on made me gasp. I need the second part now! I have so many questions that need to be answered. I need to know what happens to Pepper, Teague, and the dogs. The secondary characters in this one are great as well. I love Miss Adeline. She reminds me of my grandma a bit especially when it comes to good looking men. Please pick this one up you won't disappointed. Just know that Pepper and Teague's story continues in Burn.

Authors direct listen narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.

Loooooooooong, not by length, but by lack of detail on the parts that matter. Strangely written. So much story and yet none. Two parts, too secretive and too vague. The villains were obvious but there is nothing that gave you the why and what for.

The dogs just became irritating and so pushed into the book. I didn’t like the way the woofs and grrrs were voiced. It didn’t leave me wanting more, it just didn’t have enough of a hook.

"This woman was brave. Had the kindest soul. And I wanted to hurt, BADLY, the person responsible for breaking her heart." Teague 😭❤

Finished reading this MASTERPIECE then went close to yelling my lungs out of frustration, as the book ended on a MASSIVE cliffhanger! 😭😭😭💔💔💔 but I was lucky enough to find that the library had the whole series, so I'll be jumping right in 😍❤

Teague was such a cinnamon roll 😫😭❤ he emanated so much warmth that you couldn't NOT like him! I LOVED the way he showered those dogs with affection, it was swoon worthy 😭❤❤ He was a firefighter who'd experienced more agony and trauma than anyone should be allowed to 💔 he unknowingly craved love and a sense of belonging, and he'd just started clinging at it by the strings when dark and unknown forces came and snatched his light source, Pepper 😭

Pepper was such a reserved and very secretive person. Her character was left shrouded in mystery, which I am sure will be unveiled in the second installment of this superb duology ❤ Pepper, although not sharing much about herself, was such a sweet and giving soul. The amount of love and care she provided the dogs at the rescue where she worked was nothing short of heartwarming ❤ I can't wait to get to know more about her character in Burn.

Shaken is a 6 books series formed of 3 duologies, with each duet revolving around one of the Hollingsworth siblings and their significant other. Truly excited to get to Lincoln's and Beau's books 😍❤

Crash
Crash & Burn Duet, Book 1
By: Grahame Claire
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Maxine Mitchell

My first Grahame Claire book and I am hooked. Fantastic writing, characters I was completely invested in and the dogs! I love the dogs! Pepper runs a greyhound rescue with Adelaide. When one of the dogs uses Teague's tire as a toilet, things are off to a rocky start. But when he starts showing up at the most opportune times, things between them begin to change. With the frankness and love Adelaide exudes, these dogs, Teague and his firefighting coworkers and Pepper are pulled into a ring of fire. The question is why? What is happening? Who is doing this destruction? We have ideas, but the twists and turns Claire takes us on had me guessing. Even with the cliffhanger, I was still questioning why things are happening. But not only is the suspense high, the love is blooming too. Teague and Pepper are in a slow burn relationship, fueled by genuine love for each other and a passion for the dogs. It's a great story and left me wanting book 2 immediately. I am captivated!

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell give us a fabulous narration in his first book of the duet. Their own chemistry shines through as the feelings grow, and with their fabulous acting skills, we are pulled into fear and puppy love. They are enchanting and I can't wait to delve into book 2!

Love this duet: Crash/Burn. These easily could have been one book/shorter… 3 books instead of 6 (series is 6 books: 3 duets) but still loved them. I wouldn’t consider them standalone since they all pick up immediately after the previous one.

Love Teague and Pepper. Not a huge pet fan but honestly enjoyed the Greyhound rescue storyline. Miss Adeline is a riot and so funny! Love her!

If you’re looking for a good live story but no spice.. this is it. Entire series is no spice but has good plot and a good love story. Great romance with no spice but suspense mixed in.
