The third book in the Scandalous Highlanders series, and I think I enjoyed this one just as much as I did the previous book in the series – which is a good thing, because I enjoyed that quite a lot.

This one had quite a different feel to the second book, because Rowena and Lachlan already had that connection and history there, but what I liked about this was that part of this history became a journey to where both the characters could finally see each other clearly.

There was plenty of drama in this one with Ranulf just about betrothing Rowena to another man (again, Ranulf was quite irritating in this book – didn’t find him so in his own book however), a kidnapping and a rescue. I liked that part of Rowena’s journey was accepting the fact that she was in fact a highland’s lass, and she put her upbringing and knowledge to good use.

All and all, it was a great read, I read it pretty quickly and easily, and am looking forward to the final book in the series with Bear.

Weak plot, irritating characters, and too many references to other books in the series to be a satisfying stand-alone.

A fluffy historical that was very enjoyable. :)

While I enjoyed this, I have mixed feelings. The whole I like him but he doesn't like me. That is until he sees me with another man. But once these two got their heads out of their butts, it made for a sweet story.

So this book is fine, except it's the second book in the series that has Ranulf as one of the people keeping our leads apart, and it makes him pretty annoying. I don't remember him being this insufferable when he decided to chock clan alliances and marry as he liked. So yeah. I hope the next book doesn't have Ran as the villain again, it drags away from the rest of the book.

I enjoyed the story when I listened to it on audiobook, but I have problems with the narrator. She made the voices of the characters seem child-like and gave difference inflections to their dialog than I think the author intended.

I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I had already read the first and second book in this series, and really enjoyed the continuation. I love book series that span a whole family and this series is like that. This was a great continuation of books 1 and 2, but could also be read as a standalone.

Well, first of all, Lachlan was a 5 star hero for me, and the best part of this book. There wasn't a scene he was narrating that I didn't like. He was likeable, sexy, and protective in the best way. The rest of the book, however, fell a little flat to me, and certainly didn't leave me with the mad desire to read another book by the author.
I had a few issues with this book. I didn't find the sex scenes all that hot (even with my beloved Lachlan). They were brief and vague, and the scenes felt a little forced (it is a romance therefore sex) and not natural to the story.
Ranulf was a huge douche canoe and just irritated me. I'd be surprised if I read his book after this introduction to him. Likewise Arrun also left much to be desired. In fact, other than Bear, Rowena, and Loch the characters seemed pretty undeveloped.
Finally, a large part of this book was about organizing a party and lacked a certain thrill. Victorian highlanders lack a certain something for me, and I think I should perhaps stick with pre 1745 Scotsmen when the blood runs a little hotter.
