OUT ON KU NOW!!!!! One thing you should know about me is that I have a very specific kryptonite. Very specific. And this story had IT.

Fake dating to friends with benefits to really dating but not realizing it to breaking up bc circumstances are too hard to getting back together.

Wildly specific trope that I love but when I find a good story with it? Yeah I sit the fuck down and read. And this story delivered in SPADES.

I fell in love with Nate and Collin immediately. From the moment they met, as Collin tattooed Nate’s friend, there was a spark of fun sizzling chemistry there. Nate needs a fake date to his ex’s wedding because their families are friends and he has to go. Who better than a gay tattooed tattoo artist. Some might not like the premise and that’s fine but I thought Henry did a great job here. Nate’s family was NOT accepting initially but they came around because well who can’t come around to Collin? Literally the sweetest most down to earth man.

Collin’s back story with the loss of his mom and love of art and cute quirks just made him so endearing to me. And Nate fell for him SO fast because they clicked like puzzle pieces. Just instantly friends in the easiest of ways.

“We’re going fishing,” Nate said, and watched as Collin schooled his face into something fake enthusiastic. “Or, I’m fishing. You can bring your book or whatever.”

He wanted to make sure Collin was enjoying himself as much as possible while they were up here.  “You get me,” Collin said, and they packed up their stuff for the boat.

And the steam? This was a lot steamier than Henry’s first novel, naturally since it’s friends with benefits but I never got bored. It was the perfect amount and EACH sex scene served a purpose to show their romantic relationship growing. They were so in love so fast

Nate & Collin. Nate is an NHL hockey player and Collin is a tattoo artist. Fake dating, gay awakening, exploration. Very sweet story. Little third act breakup that made me v emotional. I really liked Nate and Collin’s story

Okay so basically Nate is just the sweetest guy to ever exist??? There were so many tropes in this one book that are so dear to my heart: fake dating, tattoo artist, jock/non-jock couple.

The book was also very low angst which I desperately needed after reading some heavier books. Collin and Nate were so sweet for one another, I love how immediately Collin was so mad for Nate that his family wanted him to go to his ex’s wedding that he was basically like “you wanna fuck with your family?? Say less” and this was two minutes after they met
