This was SO CUTE.

Honestly, once I started this book I could hardly put it down. It's been on my to-read list for a while, and I feel like there wasn't a better time than now to finally read it. Boy, was I right. The characters were interesting and detailed, from their names to their nuances. I felt myself almost squirming at the cuteness, the sweet intimacy between characters. Not to mention the main "plot" of a character, and 18-year-old girl, who struggles through her life as a "fangirl," in this case an extremely involved and even quite well-known fan of a particular fandom.

Overall, very sweet, well-written, well-paced story that I loved.

*2018 Update*

Reread! And loved it just as much as the first time. So good 😍

.....

*Original 2017 Review*
Have you ever encountered a novel where you just can't stop reading? Like you've been stranded in a desert for a week with no water, and someone just handed you a canteen?

That's how it felt to read Fangirl for the first time.

I am not a contemporary book reader. I own maybe 3 contemporary books (now 4). I'm just not into sappy romance. But Cath and Levi aren't sappy, or having an existential crisis like in SOME contemporaries I know... they are utterly perfect.

I was totally "meh" about the idea of this book when everyone was talking about it. Didn't understand the hype and was completely prepared to give this book a 2 star rating - but I get it now. It was fantasy, romance, contemporary, humor, drama, and so much more. I devoured this novel in less than 24 hours- and that was with both sleep and work.

100/5. Purely amazing.

Loved the book! I wish I had read it when it came out! It was definitely what I thought my time in college would be like minus the twin sister
