It's a quick read, don't let my start/finish keep you away I had "life happen" and couldn't get to reading.
This was a very straight forward story of someones journey to their Dream. What got to me most was the description of people who try to stop /him/you from your Dream. It wasn't apparent who these people were in my life and now I'm a little clearer on that, which is a bit scary.

This book is life giving and life changing. If you are feeling stuck in life or wonder what to do with your life, I highly recommend this book. The first half of the book is a story of a parable and the second half goes into the deeper meaning behind the parable. There are reflective questions to ponder about and in-depth messages and references in the Bible to provide more context. I finished this book in 2 days bc I couldn’t put it down and it’s a very easy read but with much in-depth meaning.

The book was recommended to me by a Christian friend so I listened to the audio book in a day. I personally loved the parable portion in Part 1, but the second part turned me off when the author suggested that childhood dreams of being a firefighter, actress, etc were not the kinds of dreams he’s talking about. What if being a firefighter is really your heart’s desire? Anyway, I also didn’t like the notion that if your spouse doesn’t agree with your dream, then you need to pause. Your spouse could be your biggest blocker! That’s why I gave the book 3 stars.

It was inspiring and relatable but could have been condensed to be shorter.

Quick read!
This is a book is a quick, fast read. There are so many circumstances in life that have led me to remember what I’ve read from this book. While it is spiritually based, there are concepts that can help anyone put their life situations in perspective. This is a book that provides a foundation of thought to embrace the idea of “keep going!” Each of us has a special place in the world. It is important to recognize the people that are in our corner to help us succeed and recognize those who do not have our best interests at heart. In the concept of the book, God has a plan for each of us. Do we embark on the journey or stay within our comfort zones?
One of my favorite reads!

Clearly not the greatest literary work in structure or depth, but this book still has its merits. It is a good boost or pick me up to remember that dreams don't come easy, we should expect struggle, and that God is always with us even if it seems as though he is not. A good reminder and reinforcer, good read for anyone especially since it is a quick read. High value with a low time investment. Great book.

I read this book because Nicole Bitchie (famous celeb blogger) started a book club and it was their first read. This was really good, I'm not really into inspirational books but this caught my attention because like everyone else I'm trying to plot how to achieve my dreams yet I let others (and myself) block me from from even getting started. This is one of those books I'd like to have a copy of so I can always reference it. Really great book.

Wilkinson spends the first half of this book with a wonderful allegorical parable about a man named Ordinary who sets off to pursue his Big Dream. This parable is amazingly written and very inspiring, informative, and motivating. Wilkinson spends the next half of the book expounding on his parable. This is where the book begins falling apart. While the parable does a great good encouraging people to achieve their big dreams, Wilkinson's explanation of the parable is alternates between fair-to-good motivational speeches and "name it and claim it" theology derived from a highly eisegesitical, self-focused reading of the stories Moses and Joshua. While somewhat inspiring, when Wilkinson begins to venture into theology, his writing takes a harsh turn for the worse. I'd recommend reading the first half of this book, then filter the diamonds from the dust in the second half of the book. Again, his motivational speeches in the second half can great and inspiring, but anytime he begins to open the Bible, take things with a grain of salt and see the intent of what Willinson is saying rather than the actual content and you'll come away with a fairly good experience. While Wilkinson seems to have a heart for helping people find their big dreams to achieve great things for God, he struggles (at least in this work) to level with people who have not discovered their dream yet, simply saying "you have a big dream, even if you don't know it, but you can figure it out as long as it helps others." While this could be a fair assessment, it's not terribly helpful whatsoever in the actual identification of that dream.
