Teetering on a 2, I just really can’t recommend this book and didn’t think it was spectacularly interesting after you get passed the beginning
There are secrets and an underlying mystery that make you get sucked in, but the lack of likable characters mixed with the incessant childish dialogue makes the follow through rough
Not all characters have to be “good” but their actions, whichever way they lean, should have some sort of motive or be done in a way that makes you emotionally connect (whether that be in sadness, anger, enjoyment, etc). I just found myself rolling my eyes at all of the characters.
~~~
EDIT: Bumped down to a 2, I wouldn’t recommend or come back to this
Welcome to the Royal House of the vicious, deadly, and ruthless Everlasts.
Wild Fae's world was everything I didn't know that I ever need it. So many precise details, so much backstory, and countless secrets. Intriguing and merciless princes, political game-playing royals, and rebellious with an unlucky girl's fate. Hunts start now!
I adore Kate King's writing. She's a brilliant writer and she did a marvelous job with this book. Not only did she transition from contemporary to fantasy. She did it beautifully. You become captivated in this world on the first page, and I never want to leave.
For the last two years, I think I have read fantasy only twice? Not since I discovered the WhyChoose genre, it's hard to find a good fantasy book with good world-building. And I can tell the author cherished and spent an incredible amount of time on this book.
Lonnie is a wild, defiant, and misfortunate girl who has a gift for lying effortlessly. She has some secrets that I have been obsessed with uncovering. I've got a few solid ideas about it. Hopefully, I'm right. Her journey was a thrilling one in this book. So be warned! Laughing, crying, and most significantly, shocked.
I honestly got obsessed with the princes. Yes, plural. Don't judge me I love my psycho characters. They are ruthless and unbearably gorgeous. They live in a dark, political environment. Which makes this story so much more interesting. Everybody wants to throne but who will win?
I have a ton of theories and questions. How I'm supposed to wait until the next book. I'm more curious than Lonnie because of that ending!
I really wanted to love this especially from the blurb!! I just couldnt for the life of me get into it,
I read the whole book to give it a chance!! The plot was decent but everything just fell flat for me!
I know not every book is everyones cup of tea! I would definitely at least give it a chance!!
