I have conflicted feelings about this book. It was good and I enjoyed it, but at times I felt that the drama was too much and unnecessary. I think my expectations might have also ruined this for me. I was hoping for a lot more Mariel, but she was barely even in the story. I also wasn't satisfied with Cord and Rylin. What I really loved about this was though, that Leda got a redemption arc and I actually started to like her. But then again, I started really disliking Avery. All in all, an enjoyable, fast read.
4.5 🌟 The gossip girl vibes, the heartbreak, the backstabbing! What more could a girl want? Maybe for my faves Cord and Ryling to end up toghether! Overall a great sequel that left me on my toes waiting for the final installment of this fantastic series!

A futuristic Gossip Girl-esque guilty pleasure read, 3.5 stars.
Not the best writing, but the story and plot is really good! I was happy to read a little more about the world the author created and see where the characters ended up from the first book. Some parts could have been laid out better: Leda after rehab? That was a quick turn around without a lot of follow up. And Merial? Where was she the whole time? Could have seen her a little bit more hidden in the corners.
Super goed vervolg op deel 1.

Honestly, a fave series of mine. I didn’t think there could be more twists, but that ending!!!
I didn’t like it as much as the first one but it still sucked me in. My favorite character this book was Rylin. My least favorite was Calliope, which I’m sure we will be seeing more of since she knows Avery’s little secret.
Speaking of Avery, I felt sorry for her. The main person she wants more than anything gave up on them. She’s lost and doesn’t feel like she has anywhere to turn. I want her to find her way and move on from Atlas. ( on another note, is every girl interested in him?!) I don’t really trust him. It seems like he doesn’t even care that his actions affect her that much.
Pros: The futuristic style of this still blew me away. All the detail the author put into it from the retinas down to the holographic class. The detailing is amazing.
Cons: There was drama, TONS of it! It just didn’t wow me like the first one. Some of the twist I could tell were coming.
Overall it was a good read. If you liked the first one then you should like this one.

An essentially perfect second installment in the series. As with the first, I pretty much devoured it and even whined (out loud) when I finished it. I loved this storyline, and the focus on Leda and Watt. I am SO bummed that the third and final installment isn't out for a few months (I need to know what's going on with Cole and Brice!). This may end up being my favorite series of 2018.
