J.T. was really over the top as a character; he belonged in a Sandra Brown novel. I didn't really care for him, so this kept the book from a 4-star rating. Was it the annual five-day drinking binges, the masochistic behavior such as stubbing a cigarette onto his arm, or the totally unrealistic relationship that developed between him and Tess? It's hard to say. I'm just glad that Gardner's writing has improved since this.

I made it through 10% of the book with difficulty. I’m finished. Absolutely no character development. Predictable plot. Drivel.

I am not convinced with the story. I know mostly everyone loved it and my not-favorable review might be looked down upon, but i have to say my piece.
I admire Lisa Gardner and her books. I have loved quite a lot of her works and that makes saying this even more difficult. The situations in the book are simply impossible.
The relationship between JT and Tess was deplorable. The lady is running away from a control freak psychopathic killer, who also happens to be her husband for 2 years. She has a history of abuse all her life. The situation of her getting attracted to JT was not something I could accept.
The entire novel revolved more around their relationship and not on the actual mystery. This one felt more like a romantic suspense than a serial killer thriller.
I am disappointed.

I literally read this all day today and couldn’t put it down! It is the first book in Lisa Gardner’s FBI profiler series and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books. It was very fast paced and me hooked from the jump.

An abused wife and mother will stop at nothing to protect her child. After sending her abusive husband to jail for being a diabolical serial killer Theresa is trying to rebuild her life for her and her daughter Samantha. When her ex escapes from jail he has one thing on his mind and it’s to take out his ex wife and take his daughter. Running scared Theresa decides she needs to fight for her life and will stop at nothing.

If you enjoy cat and mouse type thrillers then I definitely recommend this one!

Hmmm, nói chung khá ok nhưng kiểu đọc giải trí thôi. Hơi nhiều chi tiết 18+ không cần thiết
