Almost exclusively read this so I can impress all my friends with the knowledge that there are more Tom Sawyer books, and in one of them he gets in a balloon and flies to Egypt

The charm of the Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn stories is the setting of the Mississippi River and their adventures on lazy summer days. That is lost in this fantastic tale of the boys and Jim taking a balloon ride to Egypt. Most of it is Tom complaining about the ignorance of his friends and them trying to trip him up in his explanations of what they are seeing down below. Mildly amusing.

Quite the departure from his usual quality. Curious that this book was finished and not Tom Sawyer Among the Indians or Tom Sawyer Conspiracy

Has some funny parts, and the overall concept is pretty ridiculous, but it doesn't come close to the first two books. There's not much of a plot. Worth the couple hours it took to read it, but not something I feel like I'll have to revisit.
