My first read by the author and thought was a short story I do plan to read more of her works based on my delight with this read.

Interesting short story that didn't read like it was a preview for a new book, although now I know that the main character in this story is also in a book that Jodi Picoult has coming out later this year.

I have read other (full-length) Jodi Picoult books, and I have to say this short story is truly awful and truly a step down from her other works.
The main character is flimsy and annoying. The plot line is ridiculous, treats the reader like a child and then ends abruptly.
Save yourself the time and don't read this (and presumably the full length novel this is supposed to be the teaser for).

enjoyed the short stories more than the novel with the same characters.

Great introduction to a character. Left me wanting to read more. Will definitely check out the book.
As a short story though? Not so good. Really leaves you hanging.
