I've realized that I really love Nora Roberts books! She is so good at creating a world and characters that I just want to live with. I normally don't like a story that takes place over so much time, but I didn't mind with this one because the characters are so fun. I did feel the very end wasn't the best, but overall it was still really good.

I'm sure people tire of seeing my straight five star ratings for Nora Roberts but WHATEVER! What I love is that these stories - when boiled down to their essence - are the same. Loyalty, family, stability are all key themes. The language in these longer, standalone stories mirrors the style of the In Death series, and I love that! You immediately know who is ending up with who, and the romance of it all makes my little heart happy.
This story reminded me a bit of The Villa, one of my favorites, so I loved this story. I so enjoyed the familial element, and the Hollywood of it all.
Another one day read for me. And now we wait for the next one. :)

I received this book for free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Caitlyn Sullivan defies danger at a young age before facing it again later on in her life in this adult suspense romance.
I could not – COULD NOT – believe my luck at scoring a Nora Roberts ARC last summer. And now look at me, a 2 ARC NR reviewer! If you’ve read any of my NR reviews, you know I adore her. Even when I dislike her books, her books pushed me over the edge at a young age to read voraciously. Luckily, I really liked her latest fare.
I loved Caitlyn. An engaging and resourceful heroine, her arc from a traumatized child to a successful woman is enjoyable. While Cal worked well as her romantic leading man, I wish more time had been spent developing him as a character. Cait’s first boyfriend felt more integral to the story than Cal.
The setting is lush and beautifully written. Nora knows how to set a scene, whether it’s the streets of a big city or a small town dive bar. Once again I rolled my eyes at the amount of wealth these character possessed, but at least Cait’s family working in show business allowed me to suspend my disbelieve.
tl;dr An enjoyable romance from the queen of romance featuring a successful woman and beautiful settings.

My first time to read Nora Robert's, borrowed from a neighbor. It was an enjoyable, easy read. Not sure if I'll read another by this author but enjoyed the break from heavier reads.

Old Hollywood legacies, murder mystery, animal-loving hot guy love interest— checked a lot of boxes for me. Found it a little weird how often “Coke” was the specified drink (like literary product placement).

I always enjoy her writing style. I like that her fiction novels aren’t formulaic like her JD Robb In Death series (which I love).

Enjoyed the read! Good story and like the main character development. Didnt care for the ending considering the length of the book. I deducted a star because it felt like a lot of build up to close it out in the last 20 pages.
