Wanted to try shifter romance/omegaverse, and it was interesting.

Really liked this! My first proper werewolf romance and even though there were some cringey parts I enjoyed it overall

well. it took me a month but i finished it.
1.5 the more i think about this book the less i like it

do we think the author truly believes hymens are visible to the eye and "females can lose it while riding bicycles" or was that just excellent characterization of just how much of an ignorant bafoon Killian is?

This follows Una and Killian.
Una is a single female in the pack. She hasn't had her first heat, hasn't shifted yet, and is scarred with a disability (leg that causes some regular pain and limping).
Killian is the alpha of the pack. He also doesn't have a mate. He rules with a bit of an iron fist but has a reason behind all of his actions and rules/laws within the pack.
Right away Una goes into heat during one of the pack dinners and realizes that Killian is her mate. He rejects her in front of the pack because he doesn't feel the mate bond. She leaves and has the bond removed because her heat and the rejection leaves her in a lot of pain. After a bit Killian starts to realize that he does feel the bond. However, once he realizes that, it's already too late and the damage is done. He spends the majority of the book doing things to grovel and bring her back around to being his mate. It also forces him to deal with some pack politics and those that do not agree with his rules as alpha.

I've been looking for a good wolf shifter romance for months. I have always loved reading but when I truly fell in love with it was when I was reading shifter romances. So, it holds a special place in my heart. I held off on this series because it was hyped up for a while and for whatever reason I tend to push those off and read them after the craze dies down. I kind of regret that here. I loved this and will definitely be continuing the series.

I honestly love this book so much. It's not just the grovel, it's the whole world and its lore these characters are inhabiting. It only gets better with each reread as I pick up in different threads.

Now, Killian Kelly is a brute, but there is so much context to his actions and in the grand scheme of these books his rejection has a lot more context than some of the others. Una is amazing and so very obviously in charge. Her dignity throughout is fantastic and I love them both so much.

Nothing like a good rejected mate gut punch.
