This is a new series about an interspecies marshal group and was so good to read I could not put it down. I loved reading about Eoghan and Ari in this action packed book and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

When I am in the mood for some action/mystery along with my romance I always know I can find it from Ms. Logan. I have read several of her series and enjoyed each one. This is the first time I have read any paranormal from her. It was great. Eoghan is a Marshall for a special force that deals with anything from vampires, werewolves or aliens. He gets a handsome (yummy) new partner named Aristotle that has no clue that anything outside of humankind exists. The premise is fun and the world building is great. I can see that anything Ms. Logan can imagine could work in this wide open world. The chemistry between our two MC’s is instant and very hot. I think this book only follows them for about a week (talk about busy) so I am patiently waiting for book two. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!

Patricia Logan has been a favorite author of mine for a while. Her characters and the world she builds are strong, resilient and full of personality. "Tooth and Nail" is no exception. It is a wild and wacky ride into the supernatural and alien hidden world. I love how this is the same world as her other books and just another aspect of it. One of the MCs has a role in one of the previous FBI FIles series books and it is great to see him have his own series and watch as he's introduced to the ISR Department of the US Marshalls.

There is a lot that goes on in this book and there is an underlying mystery that will progress as the series moves along. The romance part of the book is sweet and at the moment more attraction and physical then affection and love. It doesn't feel very developed but that is because this is book 1 and there are so many other things that happen. Also, this all takes place in a week, maybe less. There really hasn't been time for the characters to really form a relationship since Ari just started at ISR and he and Eoghan have been going non stop from day 1. That being said, the beginning is there for a strong relationship and HEA and I can't wait to see it develop and learn more about the cases handled by ISR.

It is always a delight to have a new series from Patricia Logan and this is no different. US Marshalls I.S.R has that american alphabet agency energy but with the entertainment and interest of include the paranormal and beings from space.
Eoghan has driven off several possible new partners since losing his a couple of years ago. Now he's Been given the ultimatum of accepting this last person or having to leave. Ari is a surprise, and not just that he is a civilian, completely oblivious to the world that he is about to walk into. There is clearly attraction on both sides but first, Ari needs to be guided through a whole encyclopedia of information on what they could walk into and interact with on a daily basis; your standard vampires and werewolves but also space faeries and albats (alien bats). The team seems like a good one that I am looking forward to getting to know better and we have a story arc that seems like it will get very interesting.
The romance side of things is very slow burn in relation to the book but actually quite quick in relation to how long they know each other. The book takes place over only a couple of days with a lot for the new partners to deal with but also the unexpected attraction that they feel towards each other. This part felt a little rushed to me considering how long they know each other, even with thoughts of love. The story finishes on a HFN with a good place for the team to move on from. I'm interested in the way that the author is writing the series. This book is from Eoghan's POV with the final chapter in Ari's and then it will switch in book two.
I really enjoyed this as it's another great investigator style series from the author with the added bonus of aliens and paranormals. It definitely has gay Men in Black vibes and I am here for that.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

As a fan of Patricia Logan's work, I was eagerly anticipating the release of this book, and I wasn't disappointed. The premise is intriguing, and both main characters, Ari and Eoghan, are instantly likable.

Logan's world-building is commendable, but it can feel a bit overwhelming at times. There's a lot to take in, both for Ari and the reader, which creates a steep learning curve. The pace is fast, with a whirlwind of events unfolding, leaving little room for characters or readers to catch their breath.

Spanning just a few days, the story throws Ari and Eoghan into four different cases involving various paranormal and alien beings. While exciting, this abundance of action and information can feel disjointed, making it challenging to fully immerse oneself in the narrative.

One aspect that struck me was Ari's sudden immersion into the paranormal world on his first day on the job, without adequate training or prior knowledge. This expectation for him to act as if he's already an experienced agent felt somewhat unrealistic.

Conversations between Eoghan and Ari occasionally veer off track, disrupting the flow of dialogue. Additionally, the forced conflict between them, which leads to the first steps in their romance, felt unnecessary and didn't add much to the story or their characterization.

While I personally missed a dual point of view for the story (Ari's POV only appears in the last chapter), this is more of a personal preference than a critique.

Overall, the book serves as a solid introduction to the series, featuring likable characters and an intriguing world. While it does have some minor issues, I'm hopeful that they'll be addressed in future instalments.

What a ride! These two guys are so cute and hot together and I need the next book asap!

First and foremost, this is a slow-burn paranormal romance (so far HFN) with one central plot line (ending on a cliffhanger, but nothing too intense) that is also accompanied by other "episodic" plot lines. I consider this a slow burn because the men get intimate in the book's second half, but it is also not a slow burn because it only takes days for them to engage in any intimacy. And once they got intimate. Oh wow. They are so hot and steamy. And just a tiny bit kinky.

I admit that I loved the MCs the most. Ari is such a sweetheart but also has his own moral compass and is not afraid to show it. Eoghan is down bad from the get-go, but he has to be the mentor and voice of reason and follow the rules - so he holds his attraction back. They matched together very well. Other side characters were unique and loveable (the revelations at the end? I cannot wait to see how it will turn out).

The episodes where the men deal with multiple paranormal species and situations were often quite funny. And I was unsure if it was supposed to be that way because the book's tone is quite serious overall. Yet I think it was well-balanced. Some names threw me off a bit, but nothing too major.

There are lots of sharing stories and revealing histories of species but also relationships. And I loved when Ari and Eoghan shared these quiet, unhurried moments and talked.

This was my first book by the author, and definitely not the last!

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews - thank youuuu - and this is my honest review.
