“I've bespelled this locket, for you; my own, my mate. The day has come when death forced us to part. You must know that I for you, forever, I shall wait. So until we meet again I hold your love safely within my heart."

This is always such a devastating novella to read and it makes my heart hurt every time. I absolutely love Dragon as a character and I love his relationship with Anastasia, so
Spoiler seeing how her death affects Dragon and watching his fall as a hero in the story is so tragic
. I loved getting to see a bit into Dragon's past and I enjoy that it builds to his character and helps you sympathize more with him in the main series. A great little addition to the HoN world.

Never read a House of Night book. The stars are for the magic and how it’s written.

Great short story delving into the history of Dragon and Anastasia's relationship. Powerful characters developed even over these short pages in this brief tale that is deftly woven into the main story arc of the House of Night series.

I loved this novella. Kept me entertained thoughout. I loved learning about Dragon, and his love for his mate. I was sad at the end, nearly to tears!

I am so glad to have a better understanding of Anastasia and Dragon! I was drawn to Dragon's character, and my heart truly bleeds for his loss! I can't wait to read how his story turns out as well as Zoey and her crew!
