I like Spy School better, but love the environmental commentary at the end of this one. Gibbs is doing great work explaining the problem to young readers as well as empowering them to take action.

Another great-entertaining middle grade title from Gibbs. I can see 4th graders eating these books up!

Don't know how I end up picking up book 2-but it wasn't necessary to read the first to enjoy the second and the audio was great.

Summary: In 2041 twelve-year-old Dashiell Gibson is a resident of Moon Base Alpha, and at the moment he is faced with a number of problems: coping with the nasty Sjoberg twins, finding out how the commander of the base has managed to disappear from a facility no bigger than a soccer field, and dealing with the alien Zan who communicates with him telepathically from afar--and who is hiding a secret which may threaten the whole Earth.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first, [b:Space Case|17571237|Space Case (Moon Base Alpha #1)|Stuart Gibbs|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1390612337s/17571237.jpg|24510866]. Dash and his amazing skills at putting together clues really shone in this book. The ending reveal was unexpected, and it makes me anxious to see what will happen in the next book. Another good book I'll be recommending to YA readers in my life.

Still good, still well researched. Just... didn't feel as well thought out as the original.

*gasp* Did that JUST happen?!

I can't decide between a 4.5 and a 5. I took WAY too long to read this. Smh.

These books are just great. I love the characters and their development . The kids love listening to these . The author does a great job of writing for kids but makes it appealing for many ages. He portrays Dash and his family in kind loving way but without it being saccharine and fake.
