Why don't more people know about this?!

It's honestly really good. It's got a great plot and idea and Matt is nice and my favorite part is that romance and mushy things are not a central thing here so that you can focus more on the important things, like, I don't know.... saving the world, maybe?

Besides, these kids are 14-15. How many of us at 14-15 saved the world? Not me.

It's so dark, this book. It's awesome. The one star I took away was because Matt....... was a bit bland.

IN CONCLUSION...........Seriously underrated.

A Gothic / Sci-Fi blend, or at least the beginnings of one. Great atmosphere and some interesting concepts. Don't think it hit everything it wanted to though. Curious to see where it goes.

I've read this as a child in the form of "The Devil's Doorbell". This is clearly a modernized rewrite: there are DVD's, mobile phones, the 21st century etc. The most ironic reference must be towards Harry Potter, since one of the criticisms of J.K.Rowling is that she 'stole' most of her ideas from Anthony Horowitz.

I found this book to be a nice, quick read still. The story is not very sophisticated, but it is still quite thrilling.
