Great story but it was too short! Could have read a lot more about Nick and Alexa.

The Marriage Bargain is a feel-good romance to the T. While predictable, it was perfect for chaotic days when I just needed to get lost in a good book and enjoy a story with minimum drama.
It is a fake marriage, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance. Alexa wants to help her parents, so they don't lose their family home. But even if her bookstore is doing well, she doesn't have the money to pay their mortgage. Nicholas is a well-known architect who is set to inherit his uncle's business. But there is one clause on will that requires him to be married.
The solution? To get married even if they despise each other. Their banter and bickering are hilarious. They really know how to push each other's buttons. But, they very quickly discover their attraction is impossible to ignore, and there is more than a simple one-year marriage agreement.
This book made me laugh. I didn't mind guessing how it was going to unfold. Sometimes a good old, classic romance is exactly what I need.

I picked this one up because it was highly recommended on a book list site I visit frequently. This is a typical modern romance with a bit of spice. I admit I was hooked on the characters up until about 3/4 in, then it basically turned into all spice and very little story development. There were jumps in the timeline that took a minute for me to process. The conflict seemed to run in circles for a chapter or two, then all-at-once, everything was tied up in a too-neat ending. I really wanted to give this one 4 stars, but the last 1/4 of the book kept me stuck on just 3 stars. Recommend for modern romance lovers.

“A woman like you should have a husband watching at all times. Such a treasure could be stolen at any moment.”
This felt like such a short read it was done before I realized I’d read to the end. It’s a bit cliche but I’m here for it. My only complaint was that the dual POV was in third person. Ok I lied. The ending conflict and how quick it was resolved. It felt rushed. That is all.
✔️Marriage of Convenience
✔️Forced Marriage
✔️Sisters best friend
✔️Best friends brother
✔️Billionaire
✔️(This one is a secret so as to not ruin the story.)

This is hands down one of the best romance books I've ever read. Nick and Alexa truely grow in the progress of this book. As former friends as kids and having secret crushes on one another as teenagers, they both get into a predicament. She needs money to save her parents house and he needs a wife to get the rest of the business his Uncle Earl left him. Bless you uncle earl! They fought, they loved, and made a wonderful couple. The sex was hot, always sexual tension. And usually i get mad when something like what did happened at the end, but I ended up loving it because it made her and nick stronger. Must read!

This was a quick easy and HOT read. I've had it on my kindle for ages but have only now got around to reading it.
The main characters are Nick and Alexa, friends as kids they had a difficult time together as teenagers and now reunited as adults with a marriage bargain in which each party gets what they most need. For Nick that is access to his late Uncles business so that he can become part of an architecture project and for Alexa that means getting the money to pay off her parents mortgage. The two find themselves in a ridiculous ploy which turns out to be as much of an act as they both first thought.
There are very few secondary characters but the most noteworthy for me was Maggie, the best friend of Alexa and sister of Nick but I think her story will be explored more in the next book in the series.
The storyline was simplistic but the pacing was superb building up such a tension between the two main characters that the readers were feeling it through the pages desperate for one of them to crack. I think I will enjoy the other books in this series and I look forward to reading them.

I don't think I have read a book before with two people marrying as a business arrangement so this was a new one for me, but I did end up liking the book.

I was genuinely surprised by this book. Yes it was predictable, but it was very enjoyable. It was a quick, sweet, and heartwarming novel.
