Listened on Audible, narrated by David Tennant. He did a wonderful job with all the voices and really brought the story to life.
The movie isn't anything like the book. The only things that are the same are the character names. But the book is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a lighthearted way to enjoy books/reading. Simple joys.

Young Hiccup is to be initiated into his tribe but first he must capture, tame and train a dragon. Unfortunately he manages to capture the smallest most disobedient dragon out of the dragon caves, Toothless. When the initiation goes wrong it looks as though Hiccup will be banished, that is until a much bigger problem lands on the island of Berk.
I was pretty disappointed to find how different this story was to the movie but this soon changed as I got further into the story and saw it for it's own merits. Toothless is not nearly as cute as in the movie but he has his own cheeky charm and he does redeem himself after being pretty selfish and naughty for most of the book. Hiccup was a great character; likeable, brave and selfless, showcasing how brains are often far more important than brawn.
The illustrations didn't do much for me and I found it annoying how they would often appear in the middle of a sentence carried over to the next page. This was a bit jarring and the kindle content should have been laid out a lot better.
Overall a nice start to the series.

Uno de los pocos libros en los que me gustó más la película, pero bastante bueno por si solo.

Started the audiobook with my niece and ended up listening to the rest by myself but we both really liked it

Picked this up as a treat to read with my daughter. We are both huge fans of the movies, and admittedly came to the book with a bias and specific expectations. This book was clearly written for boys, not any child interested in stories about dragons. We’ll stick with the movies.

I'm sure this would have been better had it not been read aloud in monotone by a bunch of 11 year olds...

“There were dragons when I was a boy.”
When I finished the book I sat in the state of solemn aw, because I hadn’t really realized how invested I had become until the series came to it’s bittersweet conclusion. The series created a whole world for me! A world where America was a myth, and were dragons flew in the sky. It made it seem possible that maybe just maybe, Dragon’s may have walked the earth that I now step on every day, thousands of years ago.

I mean...It's read by David Tennant. And we all know he is my Doctor and my Barty Crouch...Jr.
But the story was cute (I love the movie and this is waaay different) and it was a quick listen as I drove around running errands.
