2.5 stars. Simultaneously interesting and boring.

I liked the premise of this book but not all the characters. Sine felt a little flat to me even after "knowing" them the whole book. I liked looking up pictures of the designs as I read!

Meh! Interesting novelization of Dior’s career, but just an ok read. To get more insight as I read, I consulted Wikipedia. Sadly, too close. Suddenly, the narrator felt like a character designed to include lots of different Wikipedia entries about the period. Also, weird appearances by Hemingway. So, just a meh read for me.

it was an interesting listen. I thought it would be a little bit more of Diore's career on his own. So I would say it was good book, just not sure how much is true vs. false.

it's a nice book with post world war setting. Personality I didn't like the book very much as it destroys the meaning of independent woman. It tries to show the protagonist as a feminist at the beginning. And definitely not my favourite

What caught my eye about this book was the Dior element - I love vintage fashion and for the most part I enjoyed this book. However, I did find myself getting annoyed with the main female character Copper. Ideally I think I would have preferred a little more on Dior than her but that’s purely because I am a vintage fashion lover.

A good read but won’t be a reread for me!

Interesting subject and engaging story

I bought this historical novel as a 99 cent special, having never heard of the author and knowing virtually nothing about the fashion world. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about the industry and Paris during and after WWII. I found Armond's explanation of his behavior fascinating and thought provoking.

I loved this book. It had real and raw parts, but also kept you on your toes and didn’t always give you the endings/events you wanted for certain characters, which I liked. At some points it’s a little trippy and crazy, but it adds to the crazed whirlwind atmosphere of this book and by the end you’re sad to leave the crazy life of Copper, Christian & everyone else.
