I have read all the books in the series but out of order. This was the last one. It was such a disappointment. Diamond could have been a bad ass and given Knox a challenge AND helped him heal from his past. Instead, she was made out to be a doormat of epic proportions who practically had to lose herself to convince Knox she was worth the risk. Lastly, the group sex scenes don't make sense either. It felt like a convenient excuse to add sex to the book..there was neither finesse or timing to it.

Jamie Begley does it again. Another awesome book in The Last Riders Series.

We meet Diamond Richards in Viper's Run. Diamond is the person who helped Winter win against the school board. Now she has a real battle on her hands, trying to prove that Knox is innocence.

Knox is a biker with a heart, wrecked his bike because of an animal. That's what got him into this mess. He has to get Diamond onside so she can prove his innocence but she doesn't want anything to do with him or the last riders.

I would recommend this series and I can't wait to read Sex Piston (Biker Bitches).

This series is like a chocolate cake covered in chocolate candies and chocolate icing. It has its faults, and you know its gonna leave you hung over in the morning, but boy do you crave it. An addicting story line with compelling characters, I have literally devoured the Last Riders Series over a long weekend and now I’m jonesing for my next slice of cake.
Knox has always been the super bad boy of the Last Riders Motorcycle Club. After spending the night with the terrible Sam, he finds himself on the wrongside of the law when Sam is found dead the next morning. Being the only suspect in a town that hated Sam, Knox needs a defense attorney and he needs one fast.
Enter Diamond, a lawyer in the small town who left the motorcycle life far behind. Her father and mother had lived the life, and now with her own sister part of a club, Di wants to stay as far away as she can from that lifestyle. When the Last Riders Motorcycle club ask her to defend Knox, Di is hesitant at first but eventually sees more to the hardened criminal than he wants anyone else to see.
I enjoyed Di and Knox’s story and loved the constant conflict between the two. These two are complete polar opposites and as they get to know one another, they find there is something in eachother that they truly connect with. My absolute favorite scene is when Diamond takes suspected motorcycle killer Knox home to meet her parents, who are the former leaders of their own motorcycle club. It was fun to see the worlds collide and have Diamond in the middle.
So far this is my favorite of the series. You can see Begley is coming into her own as an author and the grammar errors have been cut down significantly. There are still some which temporarily take you out of the story, but not as many as in the previous stories. Begley also pays more attention to the characters and their motivations, and I just found myself understanding this romance much more than I have previously.
Begley has come into her own with Knox’s Stand. With great characterization of main and secondary characters, far few plot holes and far less grammar errors, it feels like Begley is becoming an author to watch out for. She’s built a rich biker world and I can only seeing it get better!

I enjoyed this recent installment of The Last Riders.

A couple of things held me back from really liking it though.

I just couldn't connect with Knox. Either I needed more from his POV or I needed more of his backstory a bit earlier in the story to understand his motivations. He read very 2 dimensional to me and it stalled my emotional connection to Knox and Di as a couple. It felt like Knox literally flipped a switch... cold and hard one minute, lovey dovey the next. I wanted to feel his emotional journey and I just didn't catch it this time.

That being said, I really grew to like Di and understand her motivation for being a bit of a cold bitch. The author did a great job demonstrating Knox tearing down her walls and Di's subsequent warming up to living her own life. I also liked the family drama. I'm not sure what to think about Sex Piston but I know I will be reading her book when it comes out.

I'm also a bit disappointed in the tamer direction the series appears to be taking. I really liked the fact that it was upfront, in-your-face, unapologetic sex/mc club without taking away from the relationship of the main characters. It feels like the author is trying to appease the readers that abhor consensual sharing and/or any H that even looks at another woman after he meets the h. And there are a freaking million other books that follow those rules... I like that The Last Riders series did not. I hope that Jamie stays on the edgy side and doesn't cross over to safety zone.
