Oscar Wilde is such a gorgeous writer. This letter to an ex-lover was scathing, brutal, bitter, and honest. I deeply appreciate Wilde’s sharp transparency & expressing his despair and anger so pointedly and precisely - transporting me as the reader to the depth of his raw emotion at the time.

I was thinking of including a collection of passages I ferociously underlined while reading this sorrowful beauty, however “all repetition is anti-spiritual”, and I must agree. The only way to read this, is to read it yourself, from beginning to end. You might just find yourself as enamored as I did, with a stunningly reframed perspective of religion, sorrow, pleasure and art. The only way to know these (and to make a home for them), is to live through them. However, Wilde’s profound views, so purely put, sure help.
