This was not good. It's straight up manga, and it is very bad. Other reviewers have said it better, but I just wanted to add my voice to the fold. Everyone here is total cardboard, there is so much blushing and everybody lurrrves Sang immediately even though she is completely boring. Now, I'll read a story that's not particularly believable or that has some ridiculous shit in it as long as it's got some redeeming qualities, but this was too much for me and I'm definitely not continuing with the series. SAD! /Trump voice

A basic, guys-protect-the-girls, girl gets abused series but fun, and one that I read when I need something bad but funny.

Sang isn't like other girls, but she does like roses, the colour pink, and skirts, but she's #notyourordinarygirl.
The guys are also #notyourordinaryguys. You can totally tell them apart (*wink* *wink*).

Reread:
03/12/14-3 stars This was such a weird book, I don't even know how to rate it. Let's just say that I will definitely be downloading the next one.
08/21/14-3 stars I finished my work book, so I pulled this up on my Kindle Cloud and read it during slow times over just about a day lol. Still think it's weird, but love it so much! Should I continue with the rest of the series until the 7th book comes out in October? I think so! :)
01/12/15 3 stars
8/16/15 bumped it up to 4 stars, because obviously any book I read 4 times in a year and a half should be at least 4 stars right??
06/06/16 am I reading this again? Maybe... :) It's kind of become a "comfort read", as odd as it is.
01/21/17 I got this first book in paperback for Christmas; I've always read them on my Kindle. It was really nice to read the physical book this time. Although I kept trying to highlight my favorite parts with my finger lol.
06/30/18 read at work when I didn't have anything else to read lol. and bumping to 5 stars because this is ridiculous.
01/12/21 reading at work again. It's been 2 years since I read it last, whaaat!!? lol....
12/07/22 started this at work on Audible. I do not like the guys' accents. And I have serious thoughts about this: the only ones who are acceptable to have heavy Southern accents are Nathan, Gabriel, Luke. Kota and Mr Blackbourne are too well educated, they would have smoothed those out. Victor's mom would never deign to let a Morgan be so common. Dr Green I think would be softer and more of a Japanese lilt. Silas' was okay. North grew up on military bases in Europe and his was okay. Sang, Marie, her mom, the principal: those were all good and felt right to me. Not sure I can handle listening to more of the series though, with the accents and also it was really hard hearing Sang's punishment out loud.

I realize this book is called “introductions” and I’ve read that the rest of the series is much better, but I found this to be entirely too tedious. One by one, all 12 men (who all blur together for me) fall in love with the new girl (who seems rather unremarkable). I didn’t feel any need to read more, though if the next books were free like this one, I might give them a go.
Besides being boring & repetitive, the guys were way too bossy to Sang for me. I get it, she’s sheltered and horribly mistreated at home, but she doesn’t need all these overprotective dads/boyfriends. It all felt a little too chauvinistic and damsel-in-distress.
Again, I’d probably read more in the series… I don’t *hate* the writing and the overall story is intriguing, but I just think the “introductions” are a tad unnecessary and the guys definitely need to simmer down.

TW: child abuse and mental abuse
Listened on audio: okay so first of all, I thought this book was going to be sweet and chill and things got crazy fast! I am hooked and now I cannot stop. I need to know what’s this big secret. It’s giving Ravenhood series where there’s some big secret and the FMC has no idea what it is or what it means so naturally I need read the rest of the series to find out.
Female narrator was incredible! She kept me engaged and fully performed the book. I loved listening to her. I feel like it’s a gift to be able to perform a solo narration on a book and keep readers interested and she definitely has that gift!

The Ghost Bird series is one of my favorites to reread! Introductions is the first book and I love how the book slowly introduces you to each of the guys Sang becomes friends with. Being that Sang has had such a difficult childhood she is hesitant in every interaction she has with others. As she slowly becomes friends with the guys she has to deal with avoiding her parents, starting a new school, and navigating her first time having friends.

Il ne se passe pas grand chose dans ce premier tome, à voir si la suite est pareille...
