I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down! The world and its politics were surprisingly easy to understand, and the confusion I felt at the beginning of the story only encouraged me to continue reading. The opposite can easily happen with fantasy books, so it is always a treat when it doesn’t.

It is difficult to describe my feelings for this book. I liked the characters and their storylines, but it was too tough to follow the story fully and I did not feel the desire to completely immerse myself in the book. It felt so close to being so good, but missed the mark.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the others in the series. I think the glimpses of Xavier in previous books did not give me a good impression of him. While his character definitely improved, it took me a while to warm up to him.
This book made me SUPER excited Vuk’s book!
