this was soooo good! loved the characters and the plot, was intrigued the entire time and can't wait to continue the series!
(the only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of my dislike of love triangle tropes in books)

this was better than the first book, although a bit repetitive. I already got a spoiler for the ending but didn't expect Kitt to be direct like that.
also what the fuck is up with calum??? and why didn't kai recognise him when Paedyn was reading her father's journal??? this is all so confusing. i think calum is a double agent or something, tho i can't seem to figure for which side.

I liked the banter between paedyn and kai, but did not like the sorta love triangle plot line.
I can see the similarities between this book and hunger games/red queen, but it didn't bother me so much.
overall I expected more from all the hype, but it was good.

finished this in a day, and it was incredible.

this is the first taylor jenkins reid book i genuinely felt so connected to the characters. i think the audiobook really helped with it, hearing every characters being narrated by a different person was captivating,  making me feel like I was watching a documentary about real people, hearing about their lives, hardships and how they overcame it.

I have to admit, this was not my cup of tea. I thought the first 70% of the book were a bit dragged and I had to switch to the audio version to get by it.
the ending was okay though (extremely sad, but fitting with the theme of the book).

liked the idea behind the story, very enchanting. but I have to admit there were so many characters I had a hard time connecting deeply with all of them.
