Very short story, not very compelling. Most of the characters are unlikeable and the other ones I just feel bad for

I loved getting to hear more about the Kane brothers. Once again was intrigued by the trigger warnings, the ones least common I didn't even bat at eye at when they happened. The autocannibalism and pizza hardly as gruesome as I had imagined they'd be. I almost thought we weren't going to get an HEA with this one. I got very worried about our darling Lark and Lachlan

This book was cute but there were parts I didn't like. It took Annie a while to realize she was dead and surrounded by others like her when it felt obvious to the audience. Why was it that she can travel fast especially while "asleep" but they had to ride a motorcycle and fight the rising sun? I was surprised by the reveal of the killer and where her friend ended up. I'm happy they get to spend every Halloween together!

Everyone at the school, including teachers, are such horrible bullies. I don’t understand why they’re so cruel to girls who are just finding out about this new world. And I don’t like when a character says “and I’m a [zodiac sign] that’s why I’m good at [activity]” but I did expect to see that in a book with zodiac in the title. I’m excited to hear more about the twins’ journeys

I checked this book out based on no prior knowledge about the story. It was available as an audiobook and I needed something to listen to. I saw that it recently turned into a TV show and Vince Vaughn was cast as Yancy. I let that play out as I listened to the book and I think Vince is a great casting choice! I can't say the same for the Dragon Queen. I really liked the story and how it was all woven together. I can't wait to watch the show

This is an interesting take on the vampire/slayer love story! The idea that a "cure" for being a reaper could be made is unique. To restore everyone to their humanity and not be stuck in a life of blood thirst and immortality would be ideal for those who didn't want to be turned.

As much as I wanted to be wrong about all of this I found it predictable. Each "twist" I saw from the beginning. It would have been more wild if one of the stepkids was to blame for the disappearance.
