I wasn't feeling this one as much as the other books. It's nice to learn Levana's back story, but it pretty much just solidified the fact that she's an awful person.

I couldn't bring myself to give a shit about any of the characters in this book. I also didn't find the plot that compelling.

The last two or three hundred pages of this book felt like a chore to read. It just dragged on for too long. I also felt that the amount and severity of things that happened to Jude were over the top and unnecessary. I did, however, like the author's writing style.

3.5 stars. The first half of this book was a bit boring, but the second half was really interesting, perhaps because the monsters in the second half were more relevant to today. I found the footnotes obnoxious, but the writing was otherwise fine.
