Friends to lovers is probably my most favourite trope that ever could be. Asher & Maeve’s friendship is the goal of being friends for a decade they support each other. So, it wasn’t a big shock when Maeve came out to support Asher. You can see their bond right from the get-go. Even though he is also best friends with her brother it wasn’t ever an issue. The brother was supportive of both and didn’t want to see either of them get hurt. For me, I wasn’t sure about the marriage thing, but it worked. I kind of wished they didn’t constantly bring up that it was for show or that it was temporary. I know they were just justifying it to themselves, but it was a little over the top. But once they accepted it and were all in, I loved how they fell in love like it was a foregone conclusion.
Low angst even though you would have thought, ‘Oh the drama’ that couldn’t be farther from the case. One of the best things about a Lauren Blakely book in my opinion.
Vanessa was the perfect Maeve her voice gives off the creative vibe I feel from Maeve. Robert is newer to me, but I love how he brings Asher to life. I can’t wait to pick up more books by these two.
P.S. I can't wait for the next one in this series!!! I have a feeling it's going to be my favourite.
I wanted to shake Peter half the time and flip Adam off the other half.
The only person who made sense to me was Daniel. He is who I am rooting for. I love that he is out and proud. Not it’s easy, and I don’t judge Adam for that at all; I judge him for stinging along Peter. I don’t think he wanted to; he was conflicted, and I get that. But I still wanted to flip him off.
Peter needed to go through the gambit. I think to come out the other side to see he doesn’t have to hide. Some people will accept him. And having friends who also understand is huge.
I can’t wait to see what the third book will bring.
Michael Ferraiuolo is lovely, and I enjoyed the character voices he gave everyone.

I am taking a star off because I felt like we were getting one story, and we got something different. Almost like the author was going one way and just ventured in a completely different direction.
Peter is an interesting character he knows he is gay and has been getting bullied for it for a long time. He isn’t “out” per se but doesn’t have to say it people just know.
Adam a charming new guy comes to town and befriends Peter, but they also become more. Here is where the twist happens. He doesn’t want to be labelled so to throw people off he starts to date a girl and falls for her but also is still with Pete. Pete is in love with Adam, so he puts up with it. Even though it makes him utterly jealous.
Peter’s parents are different the mother is down in a bottle of Vicodin and the father is almost ignoring what is going on. But he is supportive of his son.
I don’t know I loved the ’90s aspect of the book and I am looking forward to Book 2, but I am just a little heartbroken for how it felt like it was going one way and turned completely around.
The narrator Michael Ferraiuolo does a fantastic job, and I very much enjoyed his tone.

🌞 Grumpy x Sunshine 🕶 🕶 Dual POV 🌞 🌞 Middle Age MCs 🕶 🕶 Summer Romance 🌞
Jenny Holiday’s writing sucks me in each time. She gives us a full story you don’t feel like you don’t fully understand the setting or who the characters are.
I don’t believe I have ever read a camp romance with adults before, and I was here for it. I loved the banter and back and forth these two had. It was a hard-fought friendship that grew to more. I don’t know that I felt like this was a “camp” setting because it felt more like a mentor role for the summer. It was very different than what camp means to me. Teddy and Gretchen both need to get away and self-reflect. They both experience personal growth. We see Gretchen bloom and find herself in a role other than a dancer; she is more than that. We see Teddy finding himself outside the band setting and trying to figure out where he is going. Can he still write? Can he still make music his career?
In the interim, they come to seek each other out and find they have more in common than they originally thought. It causes them to become closer and that turns to lust, and possibly more. Can they be long-term? Do they both want that?
Personally, I enjoyed the narration Teddy Hamilton is a favourite of mine he just delivers such an authentic experience. Kit Swann was the perfect Gretchen her voice was so easy to listen to. I need more from both of these narrators.
Ok I wanted to love this book don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed both Jude and Dean because hello DEAN!
I like the chemistry, the characters all of it but the timeline just did not work for me at all.
It was too quick. Now others in the 1001 dark nights in the stage dive worked, the timeline didn’t feel like a blink.
I mean we get to see all our favourite people for sure, but the Jude & Dean romance the swoon it just wasn’t there for this one.
And the narrator either needs to go back and listen to how she did the voices for the other characters she did because Mal & Anne didn’t sound like Mal or Anne, or even Jimmy or Leana.
