I became interested in reading this book after friends and family recommended the television series. Such a good read, I did NOT want to put it down.

I realize as a 30 year old woman, I might look silly in the children’s section of the library to find this book. I have felt so many different emotions reading this book, I wish I read this at a younger age. I felt anger, sadness and in the end I cried happy tears. What Ellie experiences in this book is more than a child being bullied for her weight. Ellie thought she was the only one, but people of all ages are getting bullied for their weight, religion, race. She’s not alone and she never was. I finished this book feeling so proud of Ellie. Definitely read this book.

I finally read this book as a 30 year old woman, I looked for it in the juvenile section. It truly is a beautiful story about young girls trying to deal with the pressure of being a girl and how society makes us think we should grow up faster than we should.
