The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
4.0
So I'll admit I was scared going into this one as it's so hyped up, and for the first half or so, I thought this was going to be the case, but i was wrong!
OK, so I wasn't blown away, and I found it a little but predictable at times, but it was also beautiful! I loved how the story unfolded, switching between the past and present, getting to know Addie and her story how she grew and adapted! I like that's she's not perfect and is flawed, but how this helps her survive!
I can definitely see why people fall in love with this book. While it's not my all-time favourite, it will definitely stick with me, and I can't wait to read more books by VE Schwab

OK, so I just had to jump straight into the next book (even though I started at book 4🙈), and I really enjoyed it! Again, I really liked the dynamic between the characters, and it was the perfect balance between spice and plot, and again, the spice was 🔥🔥🔥 I also really liked that it was FFM as I don't think this is something you see often (or I'm not looking in the right place 🤣)
I'll definitely be checking out more of Clio's series, especially when I'm in the mood for something short, sweet, and spicy

I've had this on my KU TBR and fancied something short and spicy, and this fit a prompt on the @buddyreadbooknook bingo, so I thought, why not read this.
I went into this not really realising that it was interconnected with the others, though there was enough background given that it felt OK to read as a standalone!
I liked all 3 characters and the dynamic between them and the spice was 🔥🔥🔥. It was a great balance between spice and story, and I'll definitely be checking out more of Cleo's books!

Still rereading and absolutely loving this series! Again, it has everything! Action, mystery, romance, amazing characters! This book made me realise how many amazing side characters are in this series. If they remake the series, I hope they include more of these! I am looking forward to continuing the series sad there's only 2 books left!

It's a shame I read this on some if the hottest days of the year as this is the perfect book for spooky season cuddled up with all the blankets and a giant brew!
It gave me 90s/00s teenage horror movie vibes, which I think books like this promise but sometimes miss!
I really liked Annie and all the other characters! It keeps you guessing the whole way through who did it with several possibilities. A fab mixture of who done it and spooky ghost vibes! I would love to see more in this world, especially the other characters, so I can find out their stories and what happened to them!
This is a perfect easy spooky season read

When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

So I've seen this one everywhere, and as it was @brunchingbookclub July read, I thought it would be rude not to!
So I'll admit I've been in a bit of a slow reading mood this month, so it has taken me a while to read until last night when I stayed up till 1:30 to finsih it!
Overall, I did enjoy it, though I did guess some of the twists/ thought some were slightly predictable, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment!
I really liked Raeve she's your kick ass FMC who's also sweet and vulnerable! And Kaan, he's strong, sweet, caring, protective, and calls Raeve moonbeam (I'm a sucker for sweet nicknames!). What more do you want from a book boyfriend! And that epilogue???? I can't wait for book 2 and to continue this series!

Feuding with my Vampire by Lexie K. Stone

So I'll admit I have mixed feelings about this one! I liked Zara and Alexi, and although I enjoyed the story, it didn't blow me away, and it was a bit predictable.
I also felt it feel a bit short on the promised tropes it was more instalove than enemies to lovers. In fact, I don't think they were truly enemies it was more they are different races (Vampire and werewolves) I also liked fated mates to be a bit more drawn out/not realised right away rather than instalove! It also wasn't as spicy as I think it was made out and think because it was short the tension didn't have time to build!
I know lots will enjoy this for the reasons I didn't so do give this a try!

My reread/ listen if the Sookie Stackhouse series continues! This is probably one of the slower books in the series, though that doesn't mean I still don't love it! It was full of drama, even if not that much action, and most importantly, there is lots of Eric I'm this book! I can't wait to continue my reread even if it means I'm getting closer to the end of the series 😪

Where do I begin with this review? Despite the book having some gruesome murders and could be quite dark, it is a lighthearted dark comedy that had me chuckling the whole way through! I loved the characters, Fred is the main one who had me laughing, and him and Toby make a great team! Oliver is the perfect villain, and I loved his descent into maddness! I really liked that you got the POV of both the detectives as well as the one committing the crime! If you're worried that you don't have the knowledge of Shakespeare beyond being obcessed with Leo and Claire Danes as Romeo and Juliet (guilty as charged!) or the Lion King being a Hamlet retelling don't worry as I don't think it's needed as is explained in a brilliant way!
A must-read for fans of crime books that's make you giggle with fab characters whether you're a fan of Shakespeare or not! I can't wait for book 2!

So I went into this expecting a spicy, easy read romance, and it was that and so much more! I really liked Cassandra and how she opened up and became even stronger whilst realising it's OK to rely on others and James... he's what we love in a book boyfriend! Handsome, possessive, but also a total sweetie who makes you pancakes for breakfast 🥰 and the spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥 wow you may need a cold shower (or something else 😉 after reading this!)
Though this book does deal with some tough issues so please do check content warnings before reading! I can't wait to read more of this series and will definitely be checking out Bea's other books!
