I love the idea of this book. It would have made a killer series of nice meaty books, each volume based on one major historic event at a time. Instead, everything felt rushed. Still, a fun read.

I fell in love with the house, the landscape, and the story. I've read some bad reviews of this book, mainly people complaining that it's not "Interview with the Vampire". Get over it.
I hope this is the first installment of a long series!
