I loved this book. A sadder, more relatable alternative to the other dystopian fiction out there--but a better one, I think. You won't finish it feeling hopeful, exactly, but you will be glad you read it. Also: one of the most respectful treatments of an adolescent narrator I've ever read.

I laughed, I cried, I thought things and felt feelings. Everything I want in a book.

Much of the writing is lovely and I actually kind of enjoyed the stream-of-consciousness structure, but it didn't really stick with me.

My heart. It is broken.

But in a good way.

Oh, just totally life-changing.
