Wow, this is the first book of the series that had me teary eyed throughout the story. Again another very fun and entertaining listen/read. Jeff Hays did an incredible job as usual!
Holy shit that ending though, Firas was really the hardest loss - I had really grown to like both him and Louis, the fact that one of them is gone is really sad. Also I am so scared about the crown with Katia, I hope they find a way to work around it. Also Miriam Dom’s death was another hard hitter, she seemed to be so sweet. I could spend ages gushing about everything that happened in this book haha.

This series is honestly taking over my life. Really enjoyed this one!
Carl killing their new mud-skipper manager? Incredible, loved using the exploding Donut haha. Also I am very VERY curious about that they are going to do with Bea (who is alive?!). Got a really fun new set of characters in this book too, and finally a confrontation between Carl and mister angel wings!! That was so satisfying actually, I’m sure the whole arm-ripping will come back to haunt Carl later but for now it was very satisfying. I am a lil sad about Katia though, I hope she doesn’t leave the group for long. Anyway this is getting long enough - loved this one really!!!

Another amazing performance by Jeff Hays and a fantastically exciting floor. This one had me genuinely worried for some characters safety but it was still an enjoyable experience. My only issue was how confusing the layout of everything got but honestly that’s more on me than the book. Despite barely understanding the floors layout I still enjoyed every moment of it. Can’t wait to read the next one!!
Also the way my jaw absolutely DROPPED at Hekla getting smushed by Katia, all I could do was laugh. Love how the plan to anger Carl led to him being the only calm one there. Also shout out to Donut for calling Hekla a “fucking bitch” before shooting her point blank with her strongest magic missile. Incredible writing- truly.

Once again really enjoyed a book from the series. As always Jeff Hayes did a really good voice over and Matt Dinnamon writing is as excellent as always!
Really enjoyed how much I started to get to know and like the company of other characters.

Really enjoyed this book, was a whole lot of fun and strange. Many thanks to my boyfriend for recommending it to me! Needs more readers though, only 19 fics on AO3 😔🤲

I read this book knowing it wasn’t going to be my cup of tea as I simply wanted to see how the plot would be tackled, as I have never read a book like it before.

If you are wanting a high stakes, politically intriguing book where the dynamic of the species are explored - I don’t recommend; as it really does none of this. Every major plot event fades to black while the s*x lasts forever and the plot twists are predicatable and  underwhelming. It is very much a “tell don’t show” kinda book. We know a lot of stuff is happening in the background of the plot but don’t expect to see any of that.

However, if you understand that this is basically a PWP ABO novel which reads like 2020 fanfiction then I think it’s honestly perfect.

So after everything said, the reason why the book is rated at 2 stars rather than 1 is because it was honestly a 5 star experience. If you are willing to talk with friends about it and laugh over the absurdity of it all I think it’s honestly a fantastic time. Which is exactly why if there is ever a sequel published I will be reading it.

For the audio performance I just want to say the narrators did a fantastic job and made the experience palatable.

But honestly if I had to choose between reading this and some other higher rated books again I’d choose Bride, because it was everything I expected and I had fun despite not finding much interest in the content or the characters themselves.

Read this book for an illustration project, I enjoyed it more than I anticipated and found good imagery in the writing. I am interested in reading more of Carré’s work.
Not the usual type of book I read and I personally didn’t get super invested but I enjoyed it non the less.

I really loved this book. Been wanting a good long audio book for a while and it did not disappoint. I love the writing and the characters are all so interesting an unique.
However, the aspect of some of the romantic relationships weren’t my cup of tea, one pair in particular felt quite forced and didn’t feel like there was much build up towards it, more just some mild flirting then bam! they are in love. I hope I grow more fond of this relationship as I continue the series but as it stands, I feel it was an unnecessary distraction to the overall plot.
I am not talking about Rand, I love his relationship with Egwene, I was talking about Lan and Nynaeve. But I think it’s partially due to the fact I don’t really like Nymaeve atm

A fantastic succession to the first book, and was a fair amount more tense too.
