When We Burn by Kristen Proby
5.0
WOW. Just WOW. This first book in The Blackwells of Montana series absolutely blew me away. I legit could not put it down. I was sneaking in pages whenever I could and staying up way too late just to finish it. I connected with Dani, the main character so much. She's been through the wringer, but she's so strong. As a teacher myself (former kindergartener, current 2nd grade!), it was awesome to see a teacher as the lead. Dani and Bridger are perfect for each other. Bridger just brings out this amazing side of Dani, and she fits so perfectly into his life with Berdie. I love the way Bridger made Dani feel. He builds her up, makes her feel like she matters. And their communication is total relationship goals. I felt all the feels reading this book. I was thinking about it even when I wasn't reading it, and honestly, I'm still thinking about it now! I'm so hyped for the rest of the series!
What to expect:
* firefighter x teacher
* single-dad
* friends-to-lovers
* small town romance
* past trauma (FMC)
* adorable daughter
* found family
Thank you Valentine PR for an ARC of this amazing book! I voluntarily read it and gave an honest review.

Stealing for Keeps by Rebecca Jenshak
5.0
I was SO pumped to get my hands on this ARC! Rebecca Jenshak is an auto-buy author for me, and I was super curious about this new YA romance. The characters feel incredibly real and mature, even though they're navigating the high school scene.
Claire and Austin- absolutely adorable. Their romance is sweet and believable, and their glitter bomb meet-cute is chef's kiss. I could totally relate to both of them – their feelings, their thoughts, the whole deal. Even the side characters were awesome.
I'm already craving more of this series and can't wait to see what happens with Claire and Austin in the future.
For fans of:
Rebecca Jenshak
YA romance
Sports romances (especially soccer!)
Friends-to-lovers
Secret relationships
Soccer star & former figure skater
Teammates' ex-girlfriends (the drama!)
This book has something for everyone!

Skate the Line: A Single Dad Hockey Romance by S.J. Sylvis
5.0
I just finished this book, and I'm obsessed! I was hooked from the very first page. Sunny is the absolute sweetest, most relatable character ever. She's definitely going on my all-time favorite female characters list. Rhodes is a total softy, even though he tries to hide it under a grumpy exterior. His daughter Elle, is absolutely adorable, and I love how she connected with Sunny. It was so sweet to see her come out of her shell. Sunny and Rhodes were absolutely perfect for each other. Their relationship development was executed so well. I'm seriously dying for more of them as an official couple! Fingers crossed we get to see that in future books! This series has me completely addicted. If you're into single dad/nanny tropes, forced proximity, and grumpy heroes, you HAVE to read this book!
The Kiss Lottery by Ilsa Madden-Mills
4.0
Okay, so I signed up for an ARC of The Kiss Lottery thinking it would be a light and fluffy read, but I was seriously not prepared for the feels! This novella was packed with emotion, and I found myself very invested in Everly and Beckett's love story. Sometimes novellas can feel a bit rushed, but not this one! The pacing was perfect, and I loved getting to see things from both Beckett and Everly's perspectives. It was fascinating to see how their past experiences and actions shaped their present.
Second chance romances with childhood friends is one of my favorite tropes, and this book totally delivered. I was hooked from the very first page. If you're looking for a sweet and swoony read, you NEED to check this one out!

I loved being back in the Moonlit Ridge universe again. I was so excited for Otto and Raven's story and it totally delivered. Learning about their history both together and their individual backstories totally broke my heart. But their connection was so strong and heartwarming. I loved how Raven could just be herself around Otto, and how fiercely protective he was of her. The whole story had this undercurrent of suspense that kept me glued to the page (or, well, my Kindle and headphones!). I also love the found family ride or die vibes these men have.
Narrators Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum absolutely nailed these characters in the audiobook. Connor's voice is perfect for Otto. It was so deep and swoony. And Desiree captured Raven's fun, fiery personality perfectly. I could feel the emotions between them. I highly recommend both the ebook and the audiobook! I can't wait to go back to Moonlit Ridge for Kane's story.

Beg, Borrow, or Steal by Sarah Adams
3.5
This latest book from Sarah Adams has that same cozy small town charm that I loved in her previous books. It's definitely heartwarming and a light, sweet read.
However, while I enjoyed it, it didn't quite live up to the hype of the first two books in the series. I went in with high expectations, but I just didn't connect with the main character, Emily, as much as I hoped. The romance between her and Jack felt underwhelming to me.
I'm a big fan of dual POV, but I felt like there was a bit too much inner dialogue from Emily.
Despite my lukewarm feelings, I'd still recommend this book to fans of the series or other Sarah Adams books. I think I might be in the minority here, most readers will probably love it!

All We Lost Was Everything by Sloan Harlow
4.0
This book totally sucked me in! Even though it's marketed as YA, I think adults will love it too. It's got the whole package: sweet romance, a mystery that keeps you guessing, and some seriously surprising plot twists. If you're looking for a quick read with a dash of romance and and character's who all have secrets, you should definitely check this one out.

Comeback by Rebecca Jenshak
5.0
I absolutely LOVED this book so much! The cover is stunning, the characters are amazing and Archer and Sabrina were perfect together. Their love story was everything I dreamed of. Archer was so thoughtful and supportive, and I loved his character so much. I loved his POV's and his inner thoughts. Sabrina was incredible. She was kind, independent, and she knew how to make Archer feel seen. She's definitely one of my all time favorite FMCs.
And let's not forget Brogan and London from Playbook! They had a major role in this book and seeing them again made me smile.
This book had it all: found family, amazing ASL representation, and just the right amount of spice. I can't wait for the next book in this series! While this book is a stand alone, I recommend reading the series in order to get the full experience of the characters. I am so excited for the next book in the series!

Irreversible by Chelley St Clair, Jennifer Hartmann
4.5
I just finished this book and I'm still reeling. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions! Everly and Isaac's story is intense and captivating from the very first page.
Everly, an up and coming model, has her whole life planned out until it's brutally taken away. During captivity she meets Isaac, this brooding ex-detective with a past that haunts him. Despite their circumstances, a powerful connection forms between them, even though they're separated by a wall. The way Everly slowly breaks down the walls that Isaac has built up around his heart was emotional and heartwarming.
The authors did an amazing job building suspense and keeping me guessing. This story is layered with suspense, shocking twists, and some seriously intense moments.
It's a long read, no doubt, but I flew through it because I simply couldn't put it down.
If you're a fan of slow burn romance, suspenseful thrillers, and tortured heroes, this book is an absolute must read.

You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows by Piper Rayne
3.5
This is the first book in the Kingsmen Football Stars series, and it follows Shayna, a physical therapist who lands her dream job with the San Francisco Kingsmen. But there is a problem- the team's star quarterback, Lee Burrows, is the guy who broke her heart years ago in college.
Lee knows he messed up and is determined to make things right. The banter between them is on point, and watching their relationship slowly rebuild is both emotional and heartwarming.
Heads up: There's a prequel novella that gives you some backstory on Lee and Shayna. I wish I'd read that first, as it would have given me more context.
Audiobook Lovers: Callie Dalton and Joe Arden narrate this in duet style, and they absolutely kill it.
Overall: A steamy, emotional, and ultimately heartwarming read. If you're a fan of second chance romances, you'll definitely enjoy this one.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.
