This was so damn cosy and cute! Loved it! So cosy fantasy but also so self-care/self-compassion coded, it feels like a hug from a therapist and a barista at once. Definitely will continue reading this series, it’s perfect for the weather.

I love Komi Can’t Communicate, I do, but even I feel like the last few volumes have kinda gone down hill, this one was really noticeable. Like I’m here for Komi, Tadano, some of my fave side characters like Onemine and Otori and a bunch of other characters that used to be like part of their group, and there’s been like barely any content of them lately. I know there needs to be more new characters but sometimes I feel like the characters that are given more attention shouldn’t and the ones that get less attention should have more. I also really don’t love the whole love triangle thing going on with Manbagi, Komi, Tadano. I dunno, I hope I see more of the characters I like and less of the ones I don’t really care about. I’ll keep reading for now but I hope I get more of what I want in this manga soon.

First time reading a graphic novel, so it was a little bit difficult for me to read as I hadn’t learn the order of things before but it’s cool to try new things. I also haven’t read in agessss so it took a bit to get myself to read but I got back into my reading mind space after a while.
As far as the book itself, I just had watched the movie and was curious about the book afterwards so I read it and it is a lot different (as most book to film adaptations are) but I liked it. I think the book is a bit darker, raises the question as to whether Enid kills herself in the end or not, a bit more than the film.
Also, Enid is the self-conscious one in the film, which makes more sense to me but in the book Becky is. I wasn’t expecting the lack of Seymour as I thought he was an important character in the film and added depth to Enid’s character. Enid seemed that much more isolated and alone without the Seymour character in the film, there are scenes and elements of Seymour in Josh and Becky and smaller characters though.
Overall an interesting read and has made me curious and excited to read graphic novels in the future.
