I feel more attractive. Honestly, you are. It’s the star damage. I CRAVE STAR DAMAGE!
This one was a quirky and funny look at a distant world that's very similar to our own and how aliens deal with every day situations and scenarios that us humans do in our daily life.
Perfect little book to read in bed at night with a cuppa tea.
If you’re a fan of the comics, then yoy should love this book!
Excellently written story of a vampire called Louis who has the gift of eternal life and cursed with the craving of human blood, this whole book is him telling his 200 year long story to a journalist.
Tells about his time in New Orleans with Lestat (the vampire who turned him)
Of the vampire child, Claudia (whom they made)
Of his travels around the world searching for other vampires...
Took me a while to get into it but I ended up liking it.
There's no chapters, just four parts. Didn't like that; I like my chapters.
It's such a character driven book, I didn't particularly like the characters but they were well-written.
It's a dark, eerie and atmospheric read and I give it 4/5!
This is a graphic novel collection of seven H.P. Lovecraft stories, there's two of these graphic novels and in this one we have The Call of Cthulhu, The Haunter of the Dark, The Dunwich Horror, The Colour Out of Space, The Shadow Over Innsmouth, The Rats in the Walls and Dagon.
I've give this a 3 Star rating because the artwork is on point, but it really breaks down the stories making them very brief; I did enjoy it though/it was a fun and visually pleasing.
I'd recommend this for Lovecraft fans, but if you haven't read any of his stories already you may not get as much out of it.
'A census taker tried to quantify me once. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a big Amarone. Go back to school, little Starling.'
This one starts off with the FBI needing help from a imprisoned psychiatrist called Hannibal Lecter who committed at least seven cannibalistic murders, they need his insight in order to catch a serial killer called Buffalo Bill, who enjoys wearing the flayed skins of his victims.
Clarice Starling, a pretty FBI cadet is asked to visit Lecter and charm him into offering help.
My first time read of this and I've never seen the movie, shocking I know!
The plot and characters are awesome.
It’s one of the darkest and fascinating thrillers I’ve ever read.

"Call me BAAL" 👹
I thought BAAL was very similar to the stories Rosemary's Baby and The Omen, I'm not saying it's an act of plagiarism; I believe he was influenced as this was his debut novel and he was influenced by those stories - nothing wrong with some influence.
But the same goes for Swan Song, I found that similar to Stephen King's The Stand; but I guess any author would want such a brilliant book in their bibliography.
Robert McCammon is one of my favourite authors and I've enjoyed all of the books I've read of his and there's no exception with BAAL but it's probably my least favourite of the bunch.
If you're just starting out with his books, I wouldn't recommend this one first - go for They Thirst or even better Swan Song.
If you like the stories Rosemary's Baby and The Omen, give 'BAAL' a try!
This is a novella containing a series of short stories and starts off with the executed murderer Tom Requiem who is resurrected by agents of the Underland to lead a parade, which will “send some fears into the hearts of men.”
Over the next 5 stories he expands his entourage to include the person he murdered, a murderous golem, a bunch of circus freaks, a mythical creature known as a Sabbaticus, and a woman tortured to death in an iron maiden.
I liked it, it was a very quick read as it's just like 90 pages, it's brutal and dark as hell though so if you're squeamish - go elsewhere.

“The great gray beast February had eaten Harvey Swick alive.”
From the opening line we're quickly transported into a tale that's equally parts horror, fantasy and fairy tale.
The main character Harvey is suffering with dissatisfaction and boredom with his life and is tricked into becoming a visitor to Mr. Hood’s Holiday House a seemingly magical house where bored children can go to take a break from their normal lives, but obviously - things aren't what they seem.
This was an easy read with short chapters, cool illustrations drawn by the author himself which added to the overall feel of it and it just all flowed so well.
I didnt really like how it ended, it ended on a sad note and I'd have preferred something different, but I guess that's just the way some stories go.
The storyline could have been better, it was interesting but they could have expanded on it and gave more details.
It felt rushed, like it went straight into the violence/vampire hunting too quickly and I'd have preferred it to have started off slower and built up into it; I'd also like to point out that there was too many plot holes.
BUT..
There's more to the story, this omnibus collects issues #1-20 and clocks in at 536 pages; there's another three more of these omnibus collections.
"I am coming to understand that Roland's world actually contains all the others of my making"
The worlds and universes King has created are, in reality, one world, one universe.
This is basically a road map to this universe which examines all of Stephen King's work including novels, short stories, movies and includes in-depth story analyses, little-known facts, and how the plots, themes, characters, and conflicts intertwine.
There's a few chapters I skipped because I've read 52 of his 77 of his books and didn't want spoilers.
So my final thoughts on this book are, this is the best book of it's kind and I'll be referring back to it for quite sometime; I already knew a lot of the stuff in it but there was a lot that I learned and it was very informative and interesting.
Another cool addition into the Snotgirl graphic novel series, filled with beautiful artwork and a storyline that keeps you guessing; another cliffhanger at the end so I'm going to need Vol. 3 right away! ✅
